This month’s Bakers Krate has a bit of a Valentine’s Day theme going on, and that is exactly what I was hoping for. When you know you are going to sit down and eat mass amounts of baked goods, the fact that they also happen to be really pretty makes the process so much more enjoyable.
White Chocolate Roll Cake in a Jar – What is it about jar cakes that are so much fun! We’ve received one for the last few months, and they are always my favourite item in the box. However, I’m not a huge fan of this month’s flavour. It was a little blah for me….but I’m extremely picky when it comes to cake.
Heart Sugar Cookie – I definitely would have been disappointed if there wasn’t a heart-shaped sugar cookie in this month’s box…..and here it is. It’s almost too pretty to eat…..almost…
Chocolate Cakette – Next to the cake jar, these little bite sized cake balls are my second favourite item in the box…….we usually receive a couple of these. This one is rich, and moist, and pretty much just amazing.
Red Velvet Cakette – Ummmmm…..this was like a party in my mouth!! The product card says this was a favourite item in their first Krate, and now I know why. I didn’t want to put this one down.
Mini Heart Shaped Imperials – I wasn’t sure if I was going to like these at first but they are flippin’ amazing! The jam filling pulls it all together and makes for a delicious little treat.
Chocolate Caramel Delight – Ummmm….another party in my mouth!! I planned on only trying bite of each item, but ended up eating half of this one…..it is hands down one of the best bars I’ve every tried….and I’ve made some pretty good bars in my day.
Thoughts: I know what you are thinking…..why is the Vegan eating baked goods…..aren’t baked good off limits? Well….the simple answer is yes, baked goods are off limits…but the long answer is….I’ve had the week from hell, I’m on antibiotics, I fell down the stairs, have been absolutely BOMBARDED with box reviews, can’t drink wine, and it’s that time of the month…..need I say more? Basically what I am saying is I needed some damn sugar in my life right about now. Sometimes a girl just needs a little chocolate and baked goodness, and if that means I need to throw the vegan thing out the window for a day….them dammit….I’m gonna do it! And what did I learn from all of this? I discovered that Bakers Krate makes the best “cheer up” gift ever! So if you know anyone who is having a bad week, send them this box ASAP! Chocolate and sugar makes everything better!
XOXO
