What is RealEats?

RealEats is a meal delivery service that provides healthy, fresh meals you can prepare in 6 minutes or less. Our unique, sous-vide Fresh Packs(tm) lock in the flavor, freshness and nutrients of our food. Our meals do not contain any preservatives, additives or junk of any kind – just real, food made simple for you and your family.

Where are you located?

Our kitchen is based in Geneva, NY – right in the heart of the Finger Lakes agricultural region.

Can I choose or customize my meals?

Absolutely! We want you to choose and customize your deliveries in the ways that work for you. Each week, Our Menu page features a cornucopia of options to choose from including our current best sellers, seasonal options and fan favorites, and it will show you the meal options we offer for delivery over the next four weeks. Simply log into your account by 11:59pm ET on the Thursday before the delivery week to make new selections for that week. If you don’t change your meal selections for the coming week, we will just send you the same meals you chose for the week before to avoid any unwelcome surprises.

How many servings is one meal?

Our meals are single servings designed to serve one person. Click on any meal for a full nutritional breakdown including the total weight (in grams) of each meal. A variety of add-ons available so we can cover your breakfast and snacks, too!

I didn’t receive the meals I wanted!

If we ever make errors in our shipments, please contact our Customer Experience Team at support@realeats.com as soon as possible so that we can help sort things out quickly.

Can I return my meals if I don’t like them?

We stand by the quality of our food and our ingredients, and we also realize that every individual has a unique taste palate and may not care for our all of our meals. We cannot issue refunds for food that does not suit your personal taste, but if something is just not right with your order, please contact us as soon as possible at support@realeats.com so we can help sort out the issue with your meal.

How long do my meals stay fresh?

Your meals will stay farm-fresh for up to a week, but you can always check their best-by date insert in your box. If you are unable to finish your meals by then, you can store them in the freezer and simply thaw them before heating as directed.

Can I freeze the meals?

Yes. Our meals are designed to be eaten fresh, but you can freeze them in the packaging if you can’t eat them by the best-by date. It’s a great way to reduce food waste! When you are ready to enjoy, simply thaw fully and follow the heating instructions provided.

Can I microwave the meals?

Yes. While we recommend boiling the Fresh Packs(™) to heat your meals for best and most consistent results, you can also remove the food from the pouches and plate them before warming them in the microwave. We include suggested microwave timing instructions on each meal pack.

What about allergens?

Please take a close look at each meal’s ingredients and nutritional information on the Our Menu page on our website to see if it fits your dietary needs, and then you can select what works for you.
We take all precautions to limit cross-contamination, but our meals are manufactured in a facility that uses egg, tree nuts, milk, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat.

Are your ingredients organic?

Our food has no artificial ingredients, binders, fillers or added artificial preservatives and is as seasonal as possible. Some of our ingredients are organic, and many come from local sources near our kitchen in the Finger Lakes agricultural region of New York.

Since supporting other small businesses and reducing environmental impact are core values of RealEats, we source as much as possible from independent farmers and food companies local to our kitchen in the Finger Lakes agricultural region of New York.

Our meals are made with high-quality, real ingredients, but ultimately YOU are the best expert on what will work for your body. Do RealEats meals require preparation?

We prepare and fully cook our meals to perfection. All that’s left for you to do is heat and enjoy.

Is the plastic packaging safe?

Absolutely! We use the classic French “sous-vide” technique found in many high-end gourmet restaurants. These pouches are 100% food-safe, BPA-free, Plasticizer-free, Phthalate-free and do not leach chemicals of any kind into your food.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up by clicking Get Started Get Started or by heading straight on over to the Meal Plan page. Just select the plan that makes most sense for you and your family. You’ll be able to choose meals and add-ons after that. Enjoy!

What is the minimum plan for RealEats?

There are several meal plans to choose from starting with four meals per week. Each meal is individually-portioned to accommodate and feed each individual’s needs.

Nope! In fact, you can skip, pause or cancel anytime. By adjusting your weekly delivery schedule before our Thursday at 11:59pm ET cut-off time, not only will you stop delivery for the following week but you help us order and cook the right amount of food for our customers so we can eliminate any unnecessary food waste.

I just signed up, what happens now?

Let us be the first to welcome you to our RealEats community! Thank you for giving us a try. Now that you’re here, just sit back, relax and wait for your first box of hand-selected, fresh, delicious, perfectly-portioned meals to arrive. Or, while you’re waiting, you can always return to your account and select your meals for up to four weeks in advance. Change your mind about something? No problem. As long as it’s before 11:59pm ET on Thursday, you can change your order as many times as you want for the coming week.

Does my credit card get charged if I skip a week?

Nope! As long as you skip, pause, or cancel your subscription before 11:59pm ET on Thursday, your credit card will NOT be charged for the following week’s box.

Will my subscription renew automatically?

You can skip, pause or even cancel at anytime. Weekly delivery is the default setting for your subscription, and you can change this setting at any time for the upcoming week by accessing your account and making changes before 11:59pm ET on Thursday.

Can I buy RealEats as a gift?

How thoughtful you are. Of course you can! To gift our meals to someone else, all you need to do is select a meal plan, and start an account. Just be sure to enter your gift recipient’s delivery address. You will be selecting their meals for them as you build their first order. If you only intend to gift a certain number of weeks worth of meals, be sure to log back into the RealEats account to skip weeks, pause, or cancel the subscription once those first meals are delivered. What do I get in my delivery?
Your delivery box will contain the exact meals and the number of meals (as well as any add-on items) you selected for that week. It will also have a paper insert with the best-by date for your meals. Our meals are contained in individual, vacuum-sealed Fresh Packs(TM) (designed to lock in flavor and freshness) packaged together with a cardboard bellyband. The food items are shipped in an insulated box with frozen gel packs included to ensure food stays cold and fresh during transit from our kitchen to your door.

Can I pick my delivery day?

Currently there are specific areas where we offer options for delivery days, but most deliveries occur consistently on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (pending carrier delays & major holidays) and depending on your zip code. If you have questions about delivery please contact support@realeats.com.

How do you keep my meals fresh?

Your meals are prepared fresh in a certified kitchen. To keep them fresh in transit from our kitchen to your door, we pack them in your box with frozen, reusable gel packs. In the rare case your box arrives with fully-thawed ice packs or the food doesn’t feel cold to the touch, please take a photo of the gel packs and food and send it with your order number to support@realeats.com. We’ll take care of you from there!

When will my meals arrive?

Your zip code determines your weekly delivery day (Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday). Once you order your first box, you will receive an email confirmation with delivery information that you can track. You will be reminded to choose your meals or skip for the following week each Wednesday. In some regions, you will have different delivery day options. We will also be adding more soon!

Receiving your package

Great question. Your food will arrive fresh and should be placed into your refrigerator as soon as you receive your box. If for any reason, the ice packs have fully melted and the Fresh Packs ™ do not feel cold to the touch, please take a photo of the gel packs and food and send it with your order number to support@realeats.com. We’ll take care of you from there!

What should I do if my delivery is late?

If we learn from the carrier that your package will be arriving late, we will notify you immediately by email. Please be sure to check your spam folder if you have not received your food and have not heard from us as our attempt to contact you may have gone there.
