Bakers Krate Review December 2016

Bakers Krate is a monthly subscription box filled with locally baked goods (to the area of Guelph Ontario).  Each month Bakers Krate follows a theme for their goods.  Being December it’s no surprise I found a variety of Christmas favourites inside this months box.

I was just saying the other day how only at Christmas do you really feel the need to put out a nice plate of baked treats for visiting friends.  Bakers Krate provides just enough treats to make sure your guests feel well hosted, but not so many treats that you binge on the left overs over the holidays!

Each box comes with an index card letting you know exactly what mouth-watering treats you’ll be receiving.  On the back of this index card they have also which bakeries each treat has come from.

Fruit cake was the first thing I pull out of my box.  Though I have never been a big fan of fruit cake, the amount of icing on top of this square was just enough to tempt me into trying it!

Red Velvet Cake Pop:  Oh. My. Goodness.  I would order this subscription box two times over just to get another couple of bites of this.  You might be leary of ordering baked goods by post due to the delicate nature of expiring goods.  I can assure you the moistness and freshness of this cake pop tasted like I was eating it the day it was created!  Is it sad that I’m already looking forward to the January 2017 Bakers Krate to see if this is included?  …  I didn’t think so.

Peanut Butter Balls: Bakers Krate is knocking it out of the Christmas park with this box!  Forget hosting the Christmas well-wishers, I’ll be bingeing on this box all by myself.

Christmas Shortbread:  Not a lot of people like shortbread, but I gotta say, I loved the variety of this box right down to the three different flavours of shortbread; chocolate, coconut and raspberry jam.  Tasted just like grandmas!

Snowflake Gingerbread:  It’s just not a Christmas baked goods plate without a gingerbread!

This is my first review of Bakers Krate, but I have to admit I was more than impressed with the theme, packaging & index cards and the treats were out of this world!  I’m sold on this box.
