Beachly Beauty Box Review: Spring 2022

Lately I’ve been pining for summer, wishing it was warm enough to stroll around outside in my flip flops in that carefree way you do when the sun is out and the day is long. We’ll get there tho! In the meantime I’m (mostly) loving this box of sunshine that arrived the other day. It’s called Beachly Beauty Box and it’s a quarterly subscription that delivers 4 to 6 beach-inspired, clean and cruelty-free beauty products worth up to $100 USD. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this one (not since last September) and I’m so glad they’ve sent it again to share with you.*

Like my last box this one didn’t have a guide to the contents so I’ve included product descriptions + retail prices from the brands in italics below. I love a good product card and hope Beachly will include one next time. Do you care either way?

Captain Blankenship Rose Gold Sunset Sea Salt Shimmer Spray (full size) · “Adds texture, gentle beach waves, and rose gold shimmer to your hair. $29”

This is the product I was most excited about but sadly I’m underwhelmed. For all its promise (and how beautiful is that shine? 😍😍) I’m not getting texture, waves or shimmer. I can see the copper colour on my skin but in my hair it seems to disappear. (I have long, fine, light brown hair with dirty blonde highlights.) If you’ve had different results, I’d love to hear!

Vacation Super Spritzer Hydrating Face Mist (full size) · “A hydrating, coconut water face mist designed to instantly refresh both body and soul. $12”

I’m obsessed with face mists and this one is giving me all of the tropical feels with its coconut scent. It’s light, not the least bit greasy and feels so so good. Especially if you keep it refrigerated. Two or three cool spritzes and ahhhhh! So refreshing!

Buzios Dewy Skin Brazilian Beauty Elixir (full size) · “Dewy Drops is the ultimate multitasker elixir that brightens, tones, and hydrates skin. Replaces 7+ steps on your skincare routine. This Brazilian gem will give you dewy sun-kissed skin. Provides up to 48 hours of hydration, plumps the skin, and minimizes pores. Use as a primer, on the go, or as a highlighter. I feel like I’m getting more and more sensitive to fragrances as I age and this serum has a slight hint of vanilla that I don’t love. That said, it feels wonderful on and my skin feels super soft for it. I’d enjoy it even more if it had a subtle tanning effect.

French Girl Rose Lip Polish (full size) · “An invigorating rose and mint-infused sugar scrub formulated with nourishing butters to gently remove dry skin and leave lips supple and hydrated. $20”

J’adore! Heavy on the butter, light on the scrub, this gentle, nourishing polish is a must for lip care no matter the season. A great size too! This one will last me all spring long and probably well into the summer.

I really wish the shimmer spray had worked for me but three great (and full-size!) products out of four is still a solid value, especially at $29/box. Seeing Beachly Beauty Box on my doorstop made me feel sunny and it still does. I’m excited to see what the summer edition will bring! ☀️
