Beachly Beauty Box Review: Summer 2022

When we were at IKEA on the weekend I saw a giant outdoor chair in the As-Is section that would be so comfy to curl up in outside with a book. But there was no convincing my fella. “You don’t sit outside,” he said. “Because I don’t have this chair!” I replied, sinking into the thick white cushions with a smile. Yes I’m an indoor cat through and through but the right products can make all the difference. I mean, I’ll still choose shade over a sunny patch (the sun! it burns! 🥵) but give me a comfy chair and a great sunscreen (and a cold Diet Pepsi) and I’ll enjoy myself a heck of a lot more. Speaking of sunscreen, today’s box has a great one and more besides. I’ll lose a lip balm long before I finish it so I’m happy to see three. That said, my daughter’s taking two to camp so I’ll have to stash mine in a safe place. Lip balm with sunscreen is a summer must!! I usually stay clear of artificial watermelon and banana scents because few brands do them well but these are an exception.

I thought this bronzer might be too dark for my pasty white skin but au contraire! Use a light hand for a more subtle look or build it up for a J Lo glow.

COOLA isn’t cheap — or sunscreen in general really — and I can see why. It feels great, smells wonderful and doesn’t make my skin feel greasy or break out. And it’s water resistant too. Bonus!

Beach Mist Botanical After Sun Spray in Fresh (The Lyfestyle Co) · “Reset and refresh your skin. This soothing spray is made with aloe as well as a combination of mint and lavender to help moisturize and hydrate your sun-drenched skin! For an extra cooling effect, be sure to store your facial spray in your refrigerator. Your skin will be thanking you in no time!”

We’re halfway through the summer and I haven’t had a single sun burn 🙌 so I can’t say my skin’s feeling especially dry or tight but this mist feels so refreshing and hydrating all the same. It smells like something you’d get at a high-end spa and and the scent is light enough that you can apply it liberally throughout the day without overdoing it. My favourite product in the summer box.

This is the third Beachly Beauty Box I’ve tried and it’s my favourite so far. All four of the products are a total hit and large enough to last all season. (Well maybe all but the mist. I’ve been using it non-stop.) Whether you’re outside soaking up the sun all day or need some prodding to get your nose out the door, this is a wonderful box of quality summer essentials. Well worth the price!
