February Theme – Daring
Are you constantly trying to grow and become a better person? We often have motivating thoughts, such as sparking up a conversation with strangers, asking our boss for a raise or even switching up our daily routine, but then we freeze. It’s happened to the best of us, even though we know our best accomplishments or “aha” moments occur when we step outside of our comfort zone. So take that chance. Be more daring. You won’t regret it.
Blood Orange Essential Oil ($10)
From a breed of oranges that sparkle with a rich, bright like aroma. Beneficial in clearing the lymphatic system, improving immune function, lifting the mood and much more.
Turmeric Essential Oil ($12)
One of the most nutrient dense spices in the world. Known for its spicy, woody and earthy aroma. Turmeric Essential Oil may be used to benefit joint pain, relieve anxiety, promote hair growth, reduce blemishes and much more.
We received an interesting duo of oils this month. Interesting in a good way. One I am familiar with and one I have never tried before. I feel like I will be diffusing Blood Orange quite often over the next little while. Citrus scents are perfect for Spring and I definitely need a little mood boost as I wait for the warm weather to arrive.
Turmeric is a new oil for me and I am very excited to learn more about it. I love it as a spice and it has a number of great benefits, I imagine the same applies when it comes to the oil.
Detox or Chill Bites by SMPL ($6)
SMPL’s Detox Bites are a paleo superfood snack that are powered by activated charcoal, pine pollen and chaga to naturally detoxify and cleanse. SMPL’s Chill Bites are a vegan superfood snack that are powered by 20mg hemp extract, ashwagandha and reishi to keep you calm and focused.
How great are these?! I love discovering fun new snacks that are healthy….especially when they contain superfoods. Oh, and did I mention they are vegan? I will pop these in my purse or diaper bag for snack emergencies.
I received the detox bites. They are made with charcoal and coconut (among other things) and they are sweetened with dates. There are 4 bites per pack and each one has 60 calories.
Lip-Spo Gloss by Evio Beauty ($11)
These glosses are non sticky and packed with shea butter to moisturize your lips.
This little lip gloss is fun and sure to brighten my spirits. A pretty shade of gloss can instantly make you feel put together. Something I will definitely be needing over the next little while……hot showers, a cute outfit and a little pink gloss…..it will works wonders.
Reboot Lotion by BROO ($9)
This lotion not only moisturizes with barley and shea butter, but is also aromatherapeutic.
Oh my goodness….I am in love with this lotion. Not only is it a great size, it’s also 100% natural and it is scented with Clary Sage witch has a calming effect. It says to apply, breath and relax. I will use it after my evening shower.
Facial Cupping Kit by Grace Stella ($22)
Reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping up the skin tissue and improving blood supply to the face.
This is a fun product for a subscription box and extremely unique. I haven’t received anything like this in the 8 years I have been reviewing subscription boxes so they get bonus points for curation. But with that being said, I’m not sure I would personally use it. I LOVE the idea of facial cupping as it is said to reduce fine lines and increase collagen, I’m just too lazy when it comes to my skincare routine to add another step.
Rosa Damascena Mask by Mildflower ($30)
Simple, 100% natural ingredient – each mask is infused with 15ml of Rosa Damascena water.
Here we have 2 Biocellulose Peel Masks. These are slightly different than your typical sheet mask as you are to leave it on for 60 minutes or until the mask is completely dry. You follow it up with your regular skincare routine.
Happy Is Notecard Kit by Compendium ($14.95)
There are people in your life who shine. In big ways, and in small ways, they go about each day bringing brilliance and joy to the people around them. Today, it’s your turn to send some sunshine their way.
I love the idea of a handwritten note and really need to set aside some time each week to send one or two in the mail. This adorable little kit comes with a how-to guide. It tells you how to use the set and it also gives you ideas of people to give a card to, and ways in which to give your card. This is such a cute idea!
Travel Pouch by Shiraleah ($11 – $21)
These travel pouches are available in several styles. Made of Paper Straw & Nylon or Cotton.
Subscribers could have received one of a few different styles when it comes to this pretty little pouch. Mine has fringe detail, which I love, and it’s a orange/blue color combo with just a hint of gold. Perfect for Summer. Now I just need to figure out what I want to use it for. It’s too pretty to use as a travel pouch………it could definitely be used as a clutch, or maybe a makeup bag displayed on your bathroom counter? It deserves to be seen.
Glammer Safety Hammer by Bling Sting ($24.99)
Super cute, bright metallic emergency escape hammer for the car.
This is easily my favorite item in the box. I was so excited when I saw that this safety hammer was one of the spoilers for the February box. Subscribers had the option to choose from 2 different products – the safety hammer or the personal alarm. I jumped at the chance to receive the hammer as I have always wanted one of these for my car. Use it in case of emergencies to cut jammed or locked seat belts, and use the pointed end to shatter windows.
Bombay & Cedar Review February 2020 – Final Thoughts
One thing is for sure….my Bombay & Cedar delivery never disappoints. The February box was packed full, as per usual, and brought with it a variety of unique items. I discovered quite a few new brands and some really fun products. The facial cupping kit is such a great idea, as is the safety hammer. Both are items I’ve never seen in any other subscription box. I also received a few items perfect for boosting my mood now that I’m running on a few hours of sleep each night. Here’s an idea…… looking for a gift for a new Mom? Why not a subscription to Bombay & Cedar? It’s the perfect monthly reminder to let her know she’s cared for.
