Book Box Canada Spring Box Review

Here’s a closer look at what we received in our Spring Book Box Canada.  This was the full-sized Dark Romance box so it came with 3 books and 6 gifts plus author swag. This is their most popular subscription option.

The Books

We received 3 dark romance books including…

Vile Boys by Clarissa Wild – New York Times bestseller’s standalone full-length dark bully romance novel. This book is long too! It’s over 500 pages so if you’re into books that last, this could be a great option to checkout. Here’s a synopsis: They think they’re gods, but I will bring them to their knees. All I’ve ever known is how to be a good girl. My father called me his little jewel. I was the promise of a better life for us all. So I studied hard and treated everyone kindly, just like he’d taught me. Until I witnessed three vile boys kill. Ares, Caleb, and Blaine from the Tartarus House at Spine Ridge University. Devilish, hedonistic, ruthless guys determined to break me. They’re self-proclaimed gods of their own purgatory, and they won’t rest until I’ve been silenced. Their wicked games drive me insane. What they crave is my submission on a silver platter. And when they threaten my mother’s life, I finally agree to let them own me. Their filth is overpowering, and my body is corrupted in every way possible. Debauchery is what they’re good at, burning every inch of my soul until there’s nothing left but hatred for how good they make it feel … hatred for how badly they make me yearn them. But I will use this hatred against them… Turn it into a weapon of vengeance… Make even Gods kneel.

Never Let Go by Lauren BielFrom Amazon best-selling author comes a heart-wrenching captive/captors thriller romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat from the dark twists and turns. Unique, uncomfortable, and with some spice, this story will leave you saying ‘what the hell did I just read?’

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne WeaverNew York Times and USA TODAY Bestseller – the viral TikTok friends-to-lovers dark romantic comedy full of murder, chaos, and sizzling chemistry—unlike anything you’ve read before. When a chance encounter sparks an unlikely bond between rival murderers Sloane and Rowan, they find something elusive—the friendship of two like-minded, pitch-black souls who just happen to enjoy killing other serial killers.

Author Swag – We also received a signed sticker from author Clarissa Wild. Book Box Canada includes author and publisher swag like this when available. This was a fun surprise!

The Treats

In addition to the three books, they also included some gifts to enjoy.  It was a nice mix of treats and self care goodies to explore.

Peach and Prosecco Jam by Provisions Food Co. – I’m a big peach bellini girl so this jam was like my love language in a jar!  Featuring notes of sweet peach and the fun fizz of Prosecco, it was a home run.  The jar recommends serving with creamy cheeses which sounds absolutely delicious.

Tea Sampler – They included 4 unique bags of tea from Tega Tea including Blueberry Lavendar, Ice Wine with Maple, Cranberry Ginger, and Peach with Tumeric.  Such a unique variety, I loved it! I also loved that they were labeled by how much Caffeine each contained. Some are Caffeine Free and others are labeled Low or Medium Caffeine. As someone who is sensitive to Caffeine this was an unexpected delight.

Truffle Pig Chocolate – Two sweet treats to enjoy while reading were a fun addition to the box.  It’s farm to bar milk chocolate which I had never heard of before, so a real fun find. Made in Canada.

The Self Care Gifts

Hair Mask – I’m a sucker for beautiful packaging and this one did not disappoint!  Tame the Mane by Yes Studio is a Coconut Oil and Pineapple hair mask treatment.  It’s cruelty free which is a double bonus!  It says it’s one use, but depending on your hair length it feels like quite a lot of product, I’m guessing some may be able to squeeze two treatments from this one package.

Lip Mask & Scrub Kit – Such a fun find, this lip trio comes with one lip scrub and two lip masks for extra hydration and nourishment. Flavored in Peach, Blueberry, and Berries, there’s a nice variety and they all smell amazing.  Each container is just under an ounce, but a little goes a long way so they will last a while! It also comes with 3 applicators.  This kit is by Danielle Creations.

Art Roll – I’ll be honest I wasn’t exactly sure what an art roll was!  I looked it up online and it looks like it’s meant to store paintbrushes, pencils, and other tools for safekeeping.  It’s made of sueude and leather with a nice leather strap to keep it all contained. If you don’t have a need to store art tools, I think it could make a nice case for storing makeup brushes or cosmetics as well.  Let me know if you have one and how you use it in the comments!

Book Box Canada Final Thoughts

Book Box Canada is a great option for those who really love to read (especially some of their featured genres!) and who like to treat themselves in the process. I think the fun gifts that they include with the books make it feel like a nice thoughtful treat for yourself. They’re things you may not have purchased on your own, but you’ll be glad to receive.

The author swag made it feel exclusive and special.

It’s nice to let someone else curate gifts and good reads for you instead of spending time doing it on your own.  What do you think?  If you have any questions about Book Box Canada, let me know in the comments!
