Book of the Month Review March 2018

Book of the Month is a monthly book subscription box. Every month they release 5 new books which they have narrow down from hundreds of new releases (so you don’t have to). Books are announced on the first of the month, and members have six days to decide which book they would like to receive. Monthly subscriptions include one book, but members can purchase up to two additional books each month for $9.99 per title. They kindly sent us this box for review.

What is it about reading that makes me so happy? I lost touch with reading for many years due to “life” getting in the way but I remember vividly the love for reading I had when I was young. I was constantly getting new books from the library or the book fair at school and I remember how excited it made me to open a brand new book and cuddle up on the couch until it was finished. What is it about reading? Is it the fact that it allows us to slow down for a few moments, is it the fact that it allows us to get caught up in a fictional life? I’m yet to figure it out, but one thing I do know……reading makes me happy.

Book of the Month Review March 2018 – Final Thoughts

This month’s book selection receives great reviews on Goodreads. It is classified as Young Adult, Magical Realism, Contemporary and Fiction. Readers seem to be obsessed with this book. One reviewer said it was “freaking glorious” and another reader said she devoured it on a plane ride. But, it also received a couple mixed reviews (only a couple). One reviewer said she didn’t finish the book because she didn’t connect with the main character and I am a little worried that may happen to me. After reading the synopsis I wasn’t sold, but with that being said I do love Young Adult novels so I still might give it a whirl.
