BookCase.Club has sent us two boxes for June. This is one of the reviews for the two boxes we received.
This is probably the most basic subscription box out there, but really, it’s the fullest! There is nothing like sitting down with a good book in pretty much any season of life. It is so hard trying to decide what to read next and everyone’s pick of book really isn’t always my cup of tea. With BookCase Club I can select exactly the type of genre I want to receive to make sure I’m getting selections that meet my taste.
The Traitor’s Daughter – Paula Brandon
On the Veled Isles, ominous signs are apparent to those with the talent to read them. The polarity of magic is wavering at its source, heralding a vast upheaval poised to alter the very balance of nature. Blissfully unaware of the cataclysmic events to come, Jianna Belandor, the beautiful, privileged daughter of a powerful Faerlonnish overlord, has only one concern: the journey to meet her prospective husband. But revolution is stirring as her own conquered people rise up against their oppressors, and Jianna is kidnapped and held captive at a rebel stronghold, insurance against what are perceived as her father’s crimes.
This sounds riveting! It looks like a pretty light read as well. Wow, my summer reading stack is really starting to get big!
Truth Seeker – C.E. Murphy
Gifted with an uncanny intuition, Lara Jansen nonetheless thinks there is nothing particularly special about her. All that changes when a handsome but mysterious man enters her quiet Boston tailor shop and reveals himself to be a prince of Faerie. What’s more, Dafydd ap Caerwyn claims that Lara is a truthseeker, a person with the rare talent of being able to tell truth from falsehood. Dafydd begs Lara to help solve his brother’s murder, of which Dafydd himself is the only suspect.
I feel like this book will have a major twist at some point. Maybe I’m wrong, but something tells me there are a couple major cliffhangers in this one!
BookCase.Club June 2017 – Final Thoughts
This subscription can sometimes be a hit or miss for me. I feel like the two boxes they sent us in June were both decent scores and I’m looking forward to starting one or maybe two of the books immediately! I do love having a new book on the ready and BookCase.Club does such a great job of sourcing New York Times Best Sellers to make sure you are getting the cream of the crop when it comes to your reading selections!
