BuddhiBox Review August 2020

BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Each month you’ll receive a mix of 4 to 6 full-size products from artisans in India, the birthplace of the ancient art of yoga, as well as women-owned businesses in the U.S. All products are cruelty-free, organic, kind to the earth and safe for the artisans creating them. All Boxes are shipped around the 10th of each month & subscribers receive within 5-7 business days. There are 4 subscription options for BuddhiBox:

August Box Details

The August BuddhiBox has a wonderful theme: “Ganesha” and comes with a great quote to inspire that theme:

“The biggest obstacles in life are the ones your mind creates” ~unknown

I wasn’t really familiar with the symbolism of this month’s theme so I did a little research to find that Ganesha is a Hindu deity believed to be the god of new beginnings who is known to be a great remover of obstacles. What a wonderful energy and set of tools this month’s box brings to help enliven that theme.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s BuddhiBox:

Ganesha Bell Chime – Artisans India ($15)

“The sweet sound of this chime will remind you to stop the mind chatter and see the light. The inspiration and gifts that Ganesh brings are greater than we can imagine. Then, just like that! The way seems clear and what seemed like an obstacle might become a path instead.”

This is such a pretty chime hanging and the sound of the bells is so lovely and soothing. I actually have received this item in another box at some point in time and I don’t really need two, but o’well. This time around however, I did learn more about the symbolism and how to use this tool to clear obstacles, so there’s still a plus side! I’m sure I can find another place to hang this one too.

Crescent Moon Pendant – Goddess Creations ($15)

“Sometimes you’ll see Ganesh lounging on a crescent moon on a statue or drawing. Why? Indian folklore tells us that it is because of Ganesh that the moon has been decreasing in size before the no moon day, and increasing till the full moon day! NOTE: remove before swimming or bathing.”

I love moon themed jewelry and I love simple jewelry so this couldn’t be a more perfect necklace for me! It’s interesting to learn the connection of the moon Ganesha too. I’ll have to do some research on that to learn more. In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll be wearing this necklace daily.

Courage Cosmetic Clutch ($15)

“It takes courage to see what’s in front of you and go for it. Stay focused on the future point in your heart ( and mind’s eye and you’ll find the path.”

I like that this month’s contents were housed in this little clutch. Normally the items arrive in a drawstring bag, but I’ve accumulated so many of those that it’s nice to find a different container to switch things up a bit. Plus, this one is extra useful for travel or in a gym bag and I really like the simple message it carries.

Mystery Essential Oil – Oils Will Vary ($12)

“Rub the oil in your hands to activate the scent, before or after your practice for a fresh start. There’s lots of websites to reference the specific oil you received to get more insight on how to work with this gift from nature. All or our body products including our oils are always all natural. Enjoy!”

The mystery essential oil roller I received is “Sunshine in a Bottle” from Meli, The Dreaming Yogi. It smells so bright and sunny! I love citrus smells and find them so energizing. The only downside (which isn’t a big downside) is that I already have this roller from receiving it in a previous month’s box. I’m guessing they had extra inventory to clear, which is a great idea, I just kind of wish I had received one that I don’t already have. I can certainly still use this one though, so not a loss.

Yoga Mat Spray – Mind Over Lather ($8)

“You will actually look forward to chaturanga after you spray your yoga mat with a natural cleaner that smells fantastic and is a cinch to carry in your bag. Eucalyptus and Tea Tree Essential oils are in every mat spray and are naturally antibacterial and antiviral. Spray on and wipe clean. Can be used as room spray, linen spray, on furniture, in your car, and as hand sanitizer.”

Yoga mat sprays are so useful so I like finding these in subscription boxes. This one is a very refreshing and mind clearing aroma that mostly smells like eucalyptus to me at first, but definitely has softer lavender undertones with a crisp mint finish. This would be the perfect way to end a yoga session or even to use as a room spray to calm frazzled energy.

BuddhiBox Review August 2020 – Final Thoughts

I love that this month’s BuddhiBox theme inspired me to research and learn something new. It’s always fun to be introduced to new information and products from a subscription box, and this month’s box did both! It’s not as thrilling to receive a few items that I’ve found in subscription boxes before, but they are wonderful products regardless so that’s just a personal note. Overall it was a great collection that tied into the theme well and will definitely help remind and inspire me to work through any obstacles I face with courage. Speaking of courage, this month’s BuddhiBox theme was a great follow up to last month’s theme of “Courage.” The two boxes make a great pairing of goods!
