Caring Crate Review February 2017

Caring Crate is a unique, monthly subscription box service for those dealing with mental health issues, chronic illnesses – or anyone who needs a little extra self-care. From mood enhancing aromatherapy and teas, to personal journals and healthy snacks, Caring Crate is the perfect solution to indulging in a little self-care, or gifting a thoughtfully curated box to friends, family & loved ones. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Caring Crate is one of those subscription boxes that is a joy to unbox. Time and energy goes into these boxes, as well as passion and love. I have received some really unique items in this box, and discovered some really cool brands. I particularly like the product mixture they include, we have received jewelry, bath & body products, treats, crafts and home decor.

February Theme

This month’s theme is Self-Love. It’s a simple concept, but one we maybe don’t think about often enough. Most people would say they love themselves, but do they really? It took me years to love myself, and it wasn’t an easy road, and even though I have made it to a loving place, I still have days when I need to remind myself, or show myself, or take time for myself. Maybe that’s why I love this box so much?

Lemon Sweet Jewelry Lava Rock Bangle

A beautiful, modern bracelet that can be worn on its own or paired with other jewelry. Plus, it also functions as a diffuser bracelet! Just add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the lava bead to enjoy its aromatherapy benefits.

Jewelry that doubles as a diffuser is such an amazing idea. You get to wear a gorgeous bracelet, and enjoy the benefits of your favourite essential oil at the same time. I have to be careful with items like this because the essential oil blends I love are often too strong for other people. I will have to find a happy medium.

Gypsy Botanicals Love Heart Chakra Diffuser Blend

Blended to inspire compassion, forgiveness, and self-love, this essential oil blend has warm, floral scents of rose, ylang-lynag, amirs, and rosewood. Apply it to your lava rock bangle, or diffuse it in your favourite diffuser.

This essential oil blend is lovely. I use to hate rose, and now it’s one of my favourites. It’s also pretty perfect for a February box. It is supposed to inspire self-love. I think I may need to keep this beside my desk.

Beth & Olivia Rose Geranium Bath Bomb Square

Indulge in a lovely rose-filled bath with this rose geranium bath bomb square! Australian Pink Clay is used to help detoxify and give the bomb a pink tint naturally, while fragrance oils and dried rose petals give it a relaxing, romantic scent.

Beth & Olivia has popped up in a few subscription boxes over the last couple months. As a result, I’ve had the pleasure of testing out a few of their products. I have been happy with all of them, as I’m sure will be the case with this bath bomb square. Who doesn’t like bath bombs?

Hagensborg Chocolate Valentine’s Truffle Pig Mini Box

Treat yourself to all-natural, gourmet European-style chocolate made in B.C.! This box contains a sampling of delicious chocolates for you to enjoy, including milk, dark, dark hazelnut, milk caramel, and milk peanut butter.

Oh my goodness!!! I just might be doing a little happy dance right now. These are my new favourite chocolates. I’ve received this brand in 2 other subscription boxes, and am their BIGGEST fan. The peanut butter truffle in particular is AMAZING! I highly recommend it. I decided to share my last bar with Ashley, but she’s not getting any of these, sorry Ashley. I am going to save these for Valentine’s Day………wine, cozy PJ’s and Truffle Pigs!

Caring Crate Review February 2017

When I first opened this month’s Caring Crate I kind of had the feeling that it was missing something. I saw some really cute items, but maybe not as exciting as other months? But now that I think of it, we usually receive 4 items, so this month’s box seems to be on track. But I still kind of felt like maybe the value wasn’t there? Normally I don’t care too much about value, but I did some research and found out that this month’s box comes in right around the $52 mark. This means the box itself and the value of the items are equal. We definitely received what we paid for this month, but I personally feel like they have put together better boxes in the past. I am still a HUGE fan of this box, and think we received great items this month. If you think about it, the February Box is actually a really great little Valentine’s present for yourself – jewelry, chocolate, bath bomb, and essential oil……….the perfect way to show yourself some love!
