Dispatch by Breakout Review December 2017
Dispatch is a monthly subscription-based mystery that tests your detective skills each month with a new delivery of clues. Imagine a new kind of escape, one you can experience in the comfort of your own home – introducing Dispatch by Breakout. It’s a step apart from everyday entertainment—better than a book, more engaging than television—think of it as an immersive mystery where you wear the detective hat. They kindly sent us this box for review.
Dispatch is a unique subscription experience. It’s a mystery in the mail; a mystery for you to figure out. Each box provides more clues and a new experience in itself. Shonah and I made a little boo boo with this one because I reviewed the first box and she reviewed the second. When what we should have done is chosen one of us to review the entire series as each box builds on the one before it. Maybe her and I will have to plan a mystery date night and share the clues with each other.

- The first box will guide you to a ‘help’ line if you get stuck at any point.
December Details – The Story Deepens
The story deepens as this strange mystery continues to unfold! This box has been sent from your missing friend James as he travels the globe searching for clues to prove his innocence. You’ll need to use everything inside as well as items from previous boxes to solve this mystery. And remember, the team at Bailey Detectives is here to help if you get stuck along the way.
Chopsticks & Folding Fan
Ohhhh……what could these mean? There are some random letters on the back of the chopsticks package, I wonder if those mean something. Once you open the fan, there’s another list of letters.
Hotel Notepad Sheet
This is interesting. I am assuming the letters have something to do with the name of the mystery and the numbers are page numbers and paragraph numbers? I could totally be wrong…..but that’s half the fun!
Origami Paper & Instructions
This one is a little over my head, but I expect at least a few of the clues to confuse me since Shonah received the last box.
Fingerprints Card
This clue intrigues me. On the back of the card there’s a set of prints titled “mine today” and it’s interesting that the front has “your mother” and “my father”. What does “your mother” have to do with the mystery?? This is getting good.
Photograph
This is a family photo of your friend, someone called Patrick and Dr. Roland.
Tabloid Covers
I LOVE that they go so far as to create fake tabloid covers to make the mystery that much more realistic.
Newspaper Articles
The newspaper articles are a great bit of evidence as well. They really put a lot of time and effort in to the details.
Eye Witness Account
Hmmmm……what do the Doctor and the Hotel Manager have to do with the mystery?
Letters
This letter could contain a lot of clues – an anonymous note containing letters and numbers similar to those on the sheet of hotel paper, a newspaper clipping, and an eye witness statement.
Internal Memo
This memo makes reference to the White Tower properties and the employees that transferred from that resort to the Tokyo resort.
Sudoku Puzzle
This is awesome! I love Sudoku puzzles and it appears as though you need to solve this one in order to figure out the next clue.
Dispatch by Breakout Review December 2017
Dispatch is such a unique and interactive subscription. It’s a nice change from typical boxes which provide things instead of experiences. This would make a great date night once a month, or a night out with friends. It would give you an excuse to host a monthly dinner party or wine night. But it would also make a great gift to yourself as it would provide you with a little “me time”. Make a cup of tea, or pour a glass of wine, and spend some time going through the clues provided each month. I’m interested to see how many months this particular mystery lasts and how it all turns out in the end.
