Dispatch is a monthly subscription-based mystery that tests your detective skills each month with a new delivery of clues. Imagine a new kind of escape, one you can experience in the comfort of your own home – introducing Dispatch by Breakout. It’s a step apart from everyday entertainment—better than a book, more engaging than television—think of it as an immersive mystery where you wear the detective hat. They kindly sent us this box for review.
I love the fact that the subscription box world has grown so much over the last few years. There’s literally a subscription box for anything and everything. But what I really love to see is a subscription box which creates an experience and provides subscribers with something to “do” rather than something to “use”. Dispatch by Breakout provides a monthly mystery, a game if you will. Each box builds on the next and gets you involved in the process. In a world where we often have too much “stuff” this is like a breath of fresh air.

Good to Know:
- After subscribing to Dispatch, you will receive your first package in the mail. These physical items serve as an introduction to the story and draw you into this online/offline mystery. After that, you will receive an additional box each month with more items that further explain the story.
- Each story lasts for less than a year before a new story begins. You can cancel at any time.
- The first box will guide you to a ‘help’ line if you get stuck at any point.
April Details
The story reaches the last stop in Switzerland, where you must dig to solve this mystery. Once again, this box has been sent from your missing friend James as he travels the globe searching for clues to prove his innocence. He hopes that Switzerland will hold the last few pieces of the puzzle. You’ll need to use everything inside as well as items from previous boxes to solve the mystery.
It looks like this will be the last box for this particular mystery. After going through the items provided in the April box we should be able to figure out who done it…..
Ski Tag
Hmmmm….I wonder if we need to scan this ski tag? Will we discover more clues if we do?
Chocolate Bar
Chocolate is always a good idea but seeing it as part of a murder mystery is new to me. I’m not complaining though. I’ll figure out the clue and then snack on it while I work on the rest of the clues in the box.
Bank Receipt
Hmmmmm….did someone have to withdraw money and what did they use it for?
Flyer
Is poetry our clue, or is it the host, or is it the location…….
Letters (x2)
Letters are a huge clue! I feel like there could be so much useful information hidden in these.
FBI Agent Notes
Another item that could hold a lot of information….
Newspaper Articles
The attention to detail gets me every time!
Dispatch by Breakout Review April 2018 – Final Thoughts
This was our very first Dispatch mystery and it included 7 months of clues. I am so impressed by this subscription and the time and energy that goes in to each and every box. They create lifelike clues and even incorporate the Internet and Social Media. I love the idea of using this box for a monthly get-together with friends or as a date night activity with your significant other. I think the next mystery is a total of two months and I think I am going to like that one more than the 7-month mystery. For me, two to four months is the perfect length. I’m looking forward to the May box. I wonder what they will come up with next?!
XOXO
