Here’s a closer look at what we received in the Fall Extraordinary Man Box……
Huna Nourish Face Serum ($88)
Natural, organic, high- performance skin care is what Winnipeg’s Huna Skin excels at. And their Nourish Calm-Moisture Face Serum is no different. Many men are still unfamiliar with serums as part of a skin regimen, so we thought what better time to introduce a product that works to heal in a simple, effective way. It calms redness, soothes inflamed skin and provides incredible hydration.
I love a good serum (and/or face oil) so I was happy to see this in the box. If the hubby doesn’t use it I certainly will. It has a really great ingredient list and was developed to intensely moisturize, support healing, calm, and soothe dry, dehydrated, sensitive, inflammatory, and autoimmune skin conditions. It can be used day and night.
Drizzle Cinnamon Spice Raw Honey ($14.99)
This craft honey offers sweet tasting notes beyond the ordinary. Calgary-based Drizzle’s Cinnamon Spiced Raw Honey is an aromatic treat, warm and inviting for the season. With hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and all-spice, it can be used in coffee, tea and the like, or you can drizzle some over baked Brie for a delicious snack on a chilly day.
I love receiving artisan food products in our subscription boxes because it’s the kind of product I love having on hand (especially this time of year) but rarely purchase for myself. I think this would be so good in a cup of tea, drizzled on granola, or……my favorite…..drizzle over peanut butter and banana toast!
Naked Snacks Maple Praline Almonds ($3.50)
The folks at Naked Snacks in Richmond, B.C. proudly declare that they are inspired to make healthy food more accessible. As they work to steer clear of processed ingredients, they have whipped up some truly “wholesome indulgence.” With mini bags available in grocery stores across Western Canada, these Maple Praline Almonds combine the finest Quebec maple syrup with crunchy California almonds for a satisfying autumn snack.
I always love to see Naked Snacks in my subscription boxes as I am a HUGE fan of their snack mixes. They actually have their own subscription of which we review each month on the website.
Kanel Sweet Korean Heat ($10)
As the weather gets cooler outside, we turn inside for home cooking (and grilling). This amazing spice blend from Montreal-based Kanel is fuelled by gochugaru, a Korean chilli. It’s great as a dry rub or marinade to give meats and dishes an extra kick. Consider it DIY Korean BBQ! (As an added bonus, recipes for both chicken and cauliflower wings are available online.)
Funny as it may sound….I think this is my favorite item in the box! Quality spice blends feel like a special treat. I would definitely love to see this brand featured again. But until then I am going to do some research and find some recipes for my new spice. I’m definitely thinking tofu and cauliflower!
Evio Cleansing Wipes ($18)
Toronto’s Evio prides itself on being a “judgement-free zone” with products made from “good for you” ingredients. Their refreshing wipes, powered by hemp fibres, are biodegradable and effective, leaving your skin well-hydrated and clean. An insider tip? Use them in the shower as a pre-soaped, anti- bacterial wash cloth.
Cleansing wipes are such a great product to have on hand, especially for your travel bag and/or gym bag, They are easy and convenient.
Jubel Naturals Perfect Balance Roll On Blend ($21)
After a tumultuous year of world events, calm is a focus for fall. A convenient, easy way to do that? The aromatherapy products of B.C.-based Jubel Naturals, which are proudly cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. Designed to rebalance and help you reconnect, the Perfect Balance Roll On Blend uses a variety of natural ingredients to relieve stress and restlessness.
If you read my reviews on a regular basis you will know that I love essential oil roll-ons. I use them for anything and everything. I’m not particularly loving this blend but I am certainly going to spend some time on the Jubel Naturals website and see what other blends they offer.
Gentlemen of the North Socks ($13.95)
Our friends at Toronto- based Gentlemen of the North have provided us with great accessories before—from pocket squares to scarves to even laundry bags. This season, we asked them to pick a fall staple, and the Soul of the North III striped socks certainly are. Versatile for the street, home and office, the maroon-and-white colour palette is perfect for fall.
Somewhat of a staple item in Extraordinary Man Box – Gentleman of the North Socks are very popular in our house. I love the quality and I love the patterns. They are comfy and they wash well.
Extraordinary Man Box Review Fall 2020 – Final Thoughts
The Fall Extraordinary Man Box was a bit of a surprise. At first glance I wasn’t too sure about it, but as I went through the box and became familiar with each item, I came to love it. I’m especially excited about the spice blend and the Huna serum. As I mentioned earlier, I think this would make a great gift for the “hard to shop for” guy on your Christmas list. I mostly love it because the items my husband doesn’t use I end up keeping for myself:)
