Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the August Classic Box….
August Theme
This month’s Gentleman’s Box is honouring our favorite “Rocket Man”. For once I figured out who the noteworthy gentleman was right away, no hints needed. But, for those of you who need a couple clues……to date the honouree has more than 300 million record sales and he played a huge role in the soundtrack for the 1994 Disney movie The Lion King.
Tom’s Stylist Tie ($20)
We are a small bunch on a mission to help you dress and look your best, and why not do all of that for less.
When I think of the noteworthy gentleman, I think of purple so this tie is absolutely perfect for the August theme. And the diagonal stripes give it a bit of an old school vibe.
Red Stag & Hind Silk Pocket Square ($39)
Red Stag & Hind was born out of the desire for creative personal expression through one’s attire, and it is deeply rooted in classic British culture and nature.
This pocket square sticks with the purple theme and is a great match for the tie. If you are going to wear purple, why not go all out? The blue trim adds a pop of color and breaks up the purple theme.
King x Portland Socks ($15)
King x Portland was born from the idea that great things happen at the intersection of life. The brand was developed by three creatives inspired by the pace and street style of their city.
To finish off the purple theme we have a great pair of polka dot socks. I like that the heel and toe are a darker shade of purple, and the large polka dots are bold and fun.
Ace of Spades Headphones ($35)
The Ace can be both high and low. This is just like us. We have good days, and we have bad days. High days and low days. The Ace of Spades is like a wild card, and so are we as humans.
You can never go wrong with a new pair of headphones. It’s a great accessory to have on hand at all times. I personally keep a pair in a number of different locations – car, purse, desk, gym bag…..etc.
Oak & Stone Lapel Pin ($15)
Oak and Stone was created with one simple mission. To do good and be good. Our apparel and accessories are designed for both function and style. This month we bring you a unique lapel pin that pays tribute to our honorer’s style and signifies a staple piece to his daily wardrobe.
This lapel pin couldn’t be more perfect. As soon as I saw it I thought of the August honouree. Fun and bold and unique. It will add a fun vibe to any outfit.
Gentleman’s Box Review August 2019 – Final Thoughts
What a fun box this month! Gentleman’s Box did a great job with the theme and the curation. The August noteworthy gentleman was a great choice and each item represents him well. The purple theme won’t be for everyone, but it’s a nice change and will add a pop of color to any wardrobe. The headphones are a great little accessory to have on hand and the lapel pin is absolutely perfect. Now bring on the Fall boxes!
