GlobeIn Artisan Box Review March 2020

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring handmade, ethically sourced products from makers around the world. March brought the Infuse Box with three unique items to enjoy at home with coffee or tea.

*They kindly sent us this box for review.

GlobeIn Artisan Box has a single subscription option, the Premium Box at $40 per month (all prices in USD). Each one is approximately $70 in value and includes four to five handmade items by artists from around the world. Subscribers can also choose additional products to customize their box. Shipping in the US is $10/month; shipping to Canada $22/month (your first box ships free); and international shipping is $25/month.

Each GlobeIn Artisan Box comes with a full-colour guide to contents. It tells you where the products were made, who made them, how to use them, and what impact your purchase has on the lives of the makers.

Chimini Teapot with Natural Lid, Nepal ($45)

I’ve been crushing on handmade ceramics for years and this beautiful and functional teapot is now the favourite piece in my small but treasured collection. This one is made by Thimi Ceramics, Nepal’s pioneer of stoneware ceramics and employer of some 20 artisans.

Copper-Plated Mug Topper Tea Strainer, India ($18)

I have a few tea infusers but they’re much smaller than this strainer and I find them fiddly and more of a bother than anything. This strainer is easy to use, easy to clean and (most importantly) makes a great cup of tea. And I love the copper finish. Beautiful! But I wonder if there’s a misprint in the guide. It says the strainer was made by three separate artisan groups in India because “the stone, brass and glass materials are all sourced and developed by artisans in different areas of the country” and “each separate element had to be shipping from one artisan group to another in the area for finishing and assembly.” I’m no artisan, but they must be referring to another piece. And it can’t be the teapot because there’s no brass in that. Hmmmmm….

Tea Drops Collection, USA & India ($6)

Tea Drops are “organic pressed teas made with actual tea leaves, spices, and lightly sweetened with organic cane sugar.” GlobeIn included three flavours in this month’s box: Blueberry Acai, Sweet Peppermint and Rose Earl Grey. The blueberry is the only one that appeals to me, but I’ll keep the others on-hand for friends when we’re able to have people over again. “The company was created to support organic production, fair trade wages and clean water aid. In partnership with Thirst Project, Tea Drops has helped to fund clean water for over 24,000 people for one year around the world, clean water for life for 1,000 people, and the building of two permanent water wells in Swaziland, Africa.”

GlobeIn Artisan Box typically come with four to five items but the three in this box make it one of my favourites. I drink tea all day long and using the teapot and the strainer makes every cup feel like a tea party for one.

What do you think of the GlobeIn Artisan Box Infuse Box? Is there another theme or other products you’d like to see?
