GLOSSYBOX Review April 2019

April’s GLOSSYBOX didn’t arrive ’til the beginning of May so I’ll have two GLOSSY reviews for you this month. The U.S. beauty box delivers 5 deluxe or full-size products each month ranging from niche to high-end, sourced from more than 400 brands around the world.

*They kindly sent us this box for review

There are four subscription options (all prices in USD):

* monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
* 3-month ($58.50, paid upfront)
* 6-month ($111, paid upfront)
* 12-month ($210, paid upfront)

Shipping in the US is free; shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.

Subscribers can complete a beauty profile to help ensure the box matches their preferences and needs. It can be updated at any time.

Each box comes with a guide to the contents that tells you a little about each product and tips on how to use it. April’s box is focused on organic, vegan-friendly, naturally sourced products. They’ve also included two fantastic discounts for two different wine companies — $100 off a $160+ order from nakedwines.com and a $50 credit to brightcellars.com.

John Masters Organics Shampoo for Normal Hair with Lavender and Rosemary

Rosemary oil is a hair growth must, which is why we’re not surprised to see it as the key ingredient. With a natural shine and free of sulfates, your hair will reach #goals this spring with a healthy start. ($19/8 oz; featured size 2 oz)

John Masters Organics Conditioner for Normal Hair with Citrus and Neroli

No silicone, please. Making hair easy to detangle, this combined with the shampoo will leave your hair luxuriously nourished. ($19/8 oz; featured size 2 oz)

These are the perfect size for travelling, so I’m saving them for my next trip. The shampoo has a strong (and lovely) lavender scent and the conditioner light notes of citrus.

Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator

Have instant glowing skin now and later with this pomegranate infused hydrator. As one of the first brands to proudly list their ingredients on their products before the government mandate in 1924, you can be confident in ensuring your glow is naturally stunning now and in the future. ($38/50 ml; featured size 5 ml)

I think this is the first Kiehl’s product for Glossybox. It has a subtle golden tint and a light sheen that feels lovely on the skin.

Derma E Overnight Peel

This peel will take over the night shift and even out your skin’s complexion while you are sound asleep. Derma E believes that skin health can be visibly improved through the right combination of potent vitamins, whole nutrients and exceptional ingredients. With its vegan friendly, non-abrasive alpha hydroxy acids, you can rest easy knowing your skin is in good hands. ($18.99/2 oz; featured size 7 ml)

I haven’t tried the peel, so I’ll have to report on it another time.

BYBI Plumper Natural Lip Balm

A lip balm that plumps, moisturizes, and gives a glossy look all day? Yes, please. Bybi Lip Plumper does it all in a sugarcane eco-friendly tube and 100% all natural ingredients. ($14/.35 oz as featured)

My mother-in-law and I both tried this one but neither of us can tell if it made our lips any fuller. But moist and glossy for sure!

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Cream Shadow Stick

An eyeshadow with built-in anti-aging ingredients? We expected nothing less from Juice Beauty’s cream eyeshadow stick line. Juice Beauty practices farm-to-table ethics, meaning they own the very farms all of their product ingredients are sourced from to ensure an organic composition of clean beauty products that are great for your skin. ($22 as featured)

And the eyeshadow is so easy to apply and goes on smooth — I need all of my eyeshadows in stick form! I like it for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes.

April’s GLOSSYBOX is an interesting assortment of useful, clean beauty products and the Juice Beauty eyeshadow stick makes the box worth the price alone. I’m disappointed in the lip plumper but that’s just one out of six products so I think it’s still a good value.
