Each box is valued at $60+. Shipping in the US is free and shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.

Each GLOSSYBOX opens with a pamphlet-style product guide with pictures and brief descriptions of the contents, tips for using them and the retail price. The font for the product descriptions could be larger (or maybe it’s time for reading glasses?) but it’s well-designed overall and printed on a quality card stock.

KAB Cosmetics Juicy Melon Lip Oil (Full Size)

I’ve come across a lot of products that are plenty sticky when they’re not sold as such but this lip oil is an exception. It really isn’t sticky! And great shine. This one is a keeper.

Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser (Deluxe Mini)

“A good cleanser is the first step to having healthy, glowing skin. This effective yet gentle 3-in-1 bouncy makeup eraser, cleanser and deep clarifying mask hydrates the skin without stripping it, helping to combat blemishes and breakouts over time. ($10)”

I’ve been wanting to try Glow Recipe’s watermelon range for a long time but was just as happy to see this blueberry cleanser. It smells wonderful and makes my skin feel clean and soft without drying it out. Lots of lather too.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (Deluxe Mini)

“Made with powerful marine and plant actives including Padian Pavonica, Chlorella and Gingko Biloba, this anti-aging formula is clinically proven to improve hydration and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Your face will look and feel firmer and more radiant! ($45)”

Now this one I’m no help on since I haven’t tried it. But it’s in the higher-end of skincare price-wise so I’m expecting good things. (Not that pricier always equals better.) Have you used it? I’d love to get your thoughts.

Invisibobble Slim — Marbelous You’re Greyt (Full Size)

Invisibobble is my go-to brand for hair elastics for great hold and minimal breakage, tho I do opt for a scrunchie when I’m sleeping because I feel like it’s more gentle.

Cetaphil Sheer Hydration Replenishing Body Lotion (Full Size)

“This nourishing, lightweight formula replenishes skin’s hydration for 48 hours. It features the HydroSensitiv™ Complex, which deepens dynamic hydration and soothes skin sensitivity. The hyaluronic acid, sunflower seed oil, vitamin B5 and vitamin E help to hydrate dry skin. ($9.99)”

Cetaphil has been around forever (well since 1947) but this is the first of the co’s products I’ve tried. It’s light, not greasy, feels moisturizing and it’s a great price but I don’t like the scent. A bit too floral and fusty for my taste.

Hask Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner (Packette)

“Infused with hydrolyzed keratin to reduce frizz and block humidity, this conditioner gently smoothes and detangles, leaving even the most unruly hair soft and revitalized with incredible shine. Perfect for the hot, humid August air! ($2.99)”

My first experience with a Hask conditioner was pretty dreadful. My hair is long, straight and fine and doesn’t tangle easily but I found it incredibly difficult to comb through and lost a fair bit of hair in the process. This one was much better. Like night and day. Easy to rinse out and left my hair soft and shiny.

For me August’s GLOSSYBOX stand-out is the Glow Recipe cleanser, ‘tho the lip oil, conditioner and hair elastics all impressed me too. I’m a bit bummed that the largest-sized product is the only one I don’t like but then again it’s probably the least expensive so it’s not a big loss in terms of the overall value. I really like the mix of cosmetics, skincare and haircare and the balance of products both familiar and new.
