Hello hello! I hope you’re all doing okay and have lots of support in these uncertain times. I’m having a hard time settling down to write but I have some fun things to share that might be a welcome distraction for us both so I’m just going to try my best, starting with the latest GLOSSYBOX. It’s a subscription box that delivers five deluxe or full-size beauty products every month. For $21 USD you get at least $60 in value.
*They kindly sent us this box for review.
GLOSSYBOX offers four subscription options (all prices in USD):
- monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
- 3-month ($58.50, paid upfront)
- 6-month ($111, paid upfront)
- 12-month ($210, paid upfront)
Shipping in the US is free; shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.
The last few boxes haven’t come with a product card but look! It’s back! The old ones were a one-page glossy foldout on commercial magazine-weight paper, while this one a one-page booklet printed on matte cardstock. The new one is more upscale in look and feel but most importantly, it includes descriptions and prices for each of the products that I’ll share with you here.
This month’s GLOSSYBOX also included two discounts: one a $100 voucher for Laithwaites Wine Club (good for US customers only) and a $80 discount for new Hello Fresh customers (applicable in Canada and the US). I won’t use either of these, so I’d love to see some discounts for other products and services.
Sleek Copperplate Highlighter Palette
“Sleek’s first all powder highlighting palette features rich coppers and duo-toned gold shades to give you a ‘lit from within’ glow, no matter what your skin tone. ($15)”
I have a few of Sleek’s eyeshadow palettes from previous boxes and use them all the time. This highlighter one is gorgeous. The shades are all super flattering and I love the sun-kissed shine.
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara
“This award-winning mascara is enriched with a botanical shea butter blend to help care for your lashes while giving intense volume and curl. ($14)”
I definitely noticed the curl with this one and the brush works great to separate lashes but the volume wasn’t there.
Mane Club Cry Baby and Bad Attitude Hair Masks
“This dynamic duo brings more to the table than attitude: with six-free ingredients (buh-bye sulfate, paraben, gluten and other junk) and a mission for hydration, say hello to volumized, softer hair after one use. ($2.99 each)”
I love the generous sizes of the packages. I tried Bad Attitude and got four treatments out of it (even with very long hair). My hair does feel softer and a bit more voluminous after, but the sweet and spicy fragrance wasn’t my favourite. Cry Baby is fruity so I expect to like that one much more.
Basic Beauty Tweezers
“Expertly shape your brows with this classic slant tip tweezer in our favourite colour: pink! The perfectly aligned, hand-filled tips grab the hair every time for minimal effort and zero discomfort during a shape-up. ($6)”
How much can you say about tweezers? These work like a charm and the colour just makes me happy. It’s the little things! Literally.
Ciaté London Stamp & Drag Liner Duo
“Cited as the solution for the perfect winged eyeliner, this unique double-ended pen features a perfectly shaped “wing” stamp plus a precisely pointed tip for the best winged eyeliner of your life. ($19)”
I’m crap with eyeliner on the best of days so it’s going to take me a lot of practice to get the hang of this one, even if the wing stamp is supposed to make it easier. It’s an interesting concept ‘tho. Have you tried this one? Do you have any tips?
If you’re looking to try a beauty box, GLOSSYBOX is a consistently good value. The March box tallies up to $59.98; all of the products full-size with the exception of the mascara (a deluxe mini).
Are you a GLOSSYBOX subscriber? What products would you like to see in future boxes?
