GLOSSYBOX Review November 2020

Somehow we’re less than two weeks out from Christmas and there’s still so much to do! Thank you for taking a pause to share a few minutes with me. If you’ve got a beauty lover in your life that you’d like to treat this holiday, GLOSSYBOX might be something you want to consider. It’s a skincare and cosmetics subscription box that typically delivers five deluxe or full-size products for $21 USD that add up to at least $60 in value (and often more). Here’s a look at my latest one.*

*They kindly sent us November’s box for review.

“Makeup is such a powerful tool that makes us feel wonderful and adds a touch of sparkle to our everyday lives. Whether you’re seeing a few friends and family in person or visiting your loves ones over video, we’ve curated a box to make those moments more magical. After all, there’s nothing more magical than being together and feeling your best. — GLOSSYBOX”

GLOSSYBOX offers four subscription options (all prices in USD):

  • monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
  • 3 months ($58.50, paid upfront)
  • 6 months ($111, paid upfront)
  • 12 months ($210, paid upfront)

Shipping in the US is free and shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.

Each GLOSSYBOX includes a one-page product guide that opens to full-colour photos and descriptions of the contents, where you can find them and the retail price, as well as tips on how to best apply them. November’s also came with a $50 discount for Bright Cellars’ wine box and a $50 discount for Vincero Watches. I won’t use either of them (I’m not sure I even can) but if I lived in the US I would look into both further.

LASplash Cosmetics Magic Palette

“Cast a spell with every look you create using this universally flattering eyeshadow palette — perfect for day or night! Containing 8 rich and pigmented shades to make you fell bold and beautiful, you’ll be ready for all the holiday festivities coming your way. $32”

I don’t need another eyeshadow palette but this one is so pretty. The colours are on point and I love the mix of matte and sparkly, not to mention (tho I’m mentioning ) the whimisically witchy design of the case. It’s a keeper. And worth the cost of the box alone! (More even!)

Spectrum Collections Limited Edition B07 Brush

“Add definition to your eye makeup with this star-studded blending brush. Its super soft synthetic bristles taper at the tip to a flame shape that effortlessly glides across the lid for the perfect blend. $8.99”

I love a wide wash of colour over the lid and this brush is perfect for that. Feels so soft and pairs so well with the eyeshadow palette.

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Invisible+ and Rescue Balm

“Say goodbye to breakouts with this duo! The invisible patches can be worn under makeup, and help to extract impurities, protecting your skin while reducing the pimple. Afterwards, reach for the Rescue Balm to speedy up skin healing! Mighty Patch Deluxe Mini Set $4; Rescue Balm sample; unknown.”

I’ve bought Mighty Patches in the past and they’re the best ones I’ve tried — the most effective for minimizing blemishes and they stay put overnight. I haven’t tried the balm because my skin’s been pretty clear the past couple of weeks. Have you tried Hero Cosmetics?

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks

“Experience three innovative layers of luxury with these award-winning eye masks. Packed with hyaluronic acid and aloe leaf extract to hydrate, de-puff and more — your under-eyes will look brighter than ever! One pair: $4.16.”

A blogger I’ve been following for years swears by these eye masks so I was really excited to see a pair in the box. I’m saving them to use over Christmas, maybe just before we snap some holiday selfies. (Probably in our jammies.)

Doucce Ultra Precision Eyeliner

“This waterproof pencil eyeliner has a velvety smooth formula that glides on without pulling or tugging. You’ll never have to worry about smearing again! $22”

I just picked up a waterproof mascara for my teen the other day (she was worried about her mascara running in the snow) so I gave her this eyeliner to go with. It does stay put, but it also takes some effort to remove. My daughter hasn’t decided if it’s worth the trade-off.

November’s GLOSSYBOX is valued at $71.15. IMHO it’s the perfect mix of products for these COVID times. You’ve got the eyeshadow, eyeliner, brush and eye masks to play up your eyes when you’re masked-up and the pimple patches and rescue balm to deal with the maskne when you’re not. Love this one.

Have you tried GLOSSYBOX? What products would you like to see inside?
