GLOSSYBOX is a monthly beauty subscription box that delivers five deluxe or full-size beauty products ranging from trendy to high-end. At $21 USD it’s generally a great value for what you get and a fun way to take products for a test run. (GLOSSYBOX draws from 400+ brands around the world.)
*They kindly sent us this box for review
There are four subscription options (all prices in USD):
- monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
- 3-month ($58.50, paid upfront)
- 6-month ($111, paid upfront)
- 12-month ($210, paid upfront)
Shipping in the US is free; shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.
Subscribers can complete a beauty profile to help ensure the box matches their needs. You can update it any time.
Each GLOSSYBOX opens with one-page, fold-out guide to the contents. I wish it listed the value of the products that aren’t full-size; as it is now the full-size price is listed but it doesn’t say just how big that full size is so you have to do a little research to find that out and then calculate the value of the smaller size included in the box. (I’ve done the research here for you. Well for me too. I like to know what I’m getting.)
October’s GLOSSYBOX also included a US-only discount for Naked Wines ($100 off a case of wine priced at $160 or more). Canadian discounts are offered from time to time but I’d like to see them more often.
John Masters Organics Geranium & Grapefruit Body Milk and Body Wash
“Just because summer is gone doesn’t mean you can’t smell like the season. With geranium flower to soothe and tone, and grapefruit to help balance and refresh, this body care duo will lock in that summer glow even when the temperature drops.” ($24/8 fl oz; featured size 2 fl oz/$6 each)
Citrus scents are supposed to boost energy and alertness, so these will be great for a.m. showers. They smell wonderful.
Skin & Co Roma Truffle Therapy Polishing Micro-Exfoliating Truffle Face Gommage
“A delicate exfoliating cream, this face gommage features sweet almond oil, gentle apricot seed powder, and a unique and exclusive black winter truffle extract, a powerful free-radical scavenger that reduces the signs of aging.” ($28/150 ml; featured size 30 ml/$5.60)
First, how fun is the word “gommage” and why am I only seeing it for the first time now? Must find ways to work it into daily conversation. For example, “The Skin & Co gommage is really gentle on the skin and feels wonderful on, but I’m not a fan of the almond scent. It’s not overpowering in small amounts, but when you use it all over your face and neck as instructed, look out!”
Minus 417 Firming Radiant Mud Mask
“This dual action, 2-in-1 exfoliating and nourishing mud mask is based on a unique blend of rich Dead Sea mud that deeply cleanses skin, absorbs excess oil and all traces of impurities.” ($39/100 ml; featured size 30 ml/$13)
I used this mask today. It’s thick, luxurious, and creamy and my skin feels so soft now. Clean, but not tight.
Illamasqua Mini Hydra Veil
“It’s a gel, a hydrator, and primer all in one. Say hello to smoother skin with this self-leveling, futuristic clear gel. Microalgae, vitamin C and B3 work together to help maintain the skin’s hydration levels, creating a healthy looking, balanced finish.” ($11.97)
I’ve been really happy with a primer from a previous GLOSSYBOX, so I’m looking forward to trying this one. What primer would you recommend?
Bellapierre Pro Concealer Palette
“Color correcting is a well-known makeup artist tactic to banish imperfections through use of colors that cancel each other out. And with this palette of color correcting concealer, you can say goodbye to imperfections till your nighttime routine.” ($50)
And I’ll have to get back to you on this one too — once I learn how to use it. I’m not gonna lie, the green one is a little intimidating.
October’s GLOSSYBOX is valued at $92.57 — almost five times the purchase price. More than half that is the concealer palette alone but if I like it and end up using it all the time, then it’s well worth it.
Have you used any of the products in October’s GLOSSYBOX? If not, which one would you try first?
