I’m not sure if you saw my December Golden Tote review but it was pretty darn awesome. They sent me some pretty amazing surprise pieces, one of which I have been waiting to receive for a very long time – a fur-lined plaid vest. Anyways, my stylists have been killing it lately as I have really loved my last 3 totes and wear a lot of the pieces on a regular basis.

For January they did their annual total sale, which I missed out on, so I didn’t get to do a review. For February they released some pretty cute pieces so I made sure to jump on the site as soon as the totes were live and ended up getting the chosen items I was hoping for.

Here’s what I received in my February Tote:

Draped Trench Coat – Chosen Item

Normally I choose casual pieces but this month I decided to switch it up a bit. I ordered this super comfy trench coat to go with the dress below. It is the perfect transition piece because the material is light weight. I can see myself wearing this with dresses and jeans.

Flowy Floral Dress – Chosen Item

I use to hate midi dresses, and now I kind of love them. If they are styled properly they can be super cute. As I mentioned above I will definitely pair this with the trench coat, but it will also be nice on its own in the Summer with a cute pair of black wedge sandals.

Spring Sweater – Add-On Item

I think I had a weak moment when I added this sweater on to my tote. I don’t usually do add-ons, maybe only once prior to this, but it was just so pretty and looked like a nice piece for Spring. I think this will look cute with black jeans and booties or distressed denim and converse.

Gilli Solid Midi Dress – Surprise Item

This is the only item in my tote that I dislike. I really don’t like fitted dresses, or tops for that matter. And I have absolutely no curves and find that this particular cut does nothing for my boy-shaped body. I specified loose-fitting items in my style profile so I am actually kind of confused by this piece. Maybe the idea is that the wrap style will add shape to my body? I will have to play around with it a bit. I definitely prefer more casual styles.

Potters Pot Speckled Cardigan – Surprise Item

Eeek!! This is amazing. I am so happy with this item. I always hope for cardigans, and if they are cozy and loose-fitting, it is ten times better. This one will be perfect for Spring thanks to the light color and splashes of speckles. It looks SUPER cute with the next item…..

Puella Raglan Top – Surprise Item

This is an item I probably wouldn’t pick out on my own but I actually really love it. It goes perfectly with the cardigan above, and is also cute on its own. I like to have pieces like this to throw on with skinny jeans for those “I don’t want to put effort into my outfit” kind of days.

Golden Tote Review February 2017

Even thought I’m not crazy about the emerald dress, I still really love my February Golden Tote. I also have very realistic expectations and don’t expect to love every single item they send me. I’ve just been spoiled with the last few Totes and have loved them all. They nailed it this month with the speckled cardigan and the Puella top. Golden Tote is one of my all-time favourite subscription boxes to review. I use it as my personal styling service because I hate going to the mall. I’d much rather someone else do the shopping for me. I also get excited about the idea of trying new styles, so even though I don’t love the emerald dress, I’m still looking forward to playing around with it with the hopes that I can grow to love it. Knowing me I will probably pair it with a denim jacket and white Converse and end up feeling much better about it. When all else fails……add Converse.

XOXO
