Good Guygiene Review May 2024

As a boy mom to two tween and teen boys, when I first heard about Good Guygiene, I had never felt so seen! The struggle is real – raising boys is an absolute privilege, but it also comes with its own set of unique challenges…enter Good Guygiene.

There are lots of boxes available for tween and teen girls, but I hadn’t seen anything like this for boys. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to get my hands on their first box, the May box, themed Hair Necessities!

They kindly sent us this box for review.

Good Guygiene Subscription Details

Good Guygiene is a monthly hygiene subscription box for tween and teen boys. Each box is centered around a unique hygiene theme where they’ll receive clean, non-toxic products from reputable brands, grooming tools, educational resources, and fun gifts to keep it interesting!

Because each box is centered around a different theme each month, you don’t have to worry about having too much product or getting any duplicates. Boys will have the chance to experiment and try new products based on that theme and use the supportive learning resources inside to grow in confidence as they take the reigns of their own hygiene routine.

Prices start at $45 per month depending on the term, and they currently ship to the US.

Unboxing the May 2024 Good Guygiene Box

Let’s have a look inside the May 2024 Good Guygiene box…

This month’s box theme is “Hair Necessities” which means everything in this box is centered around hair hygiene.  Good Guygiene nailed those first impressions, I was thoroughly excited the moment I opened the box and saw the pop of green and navy.

You Look Good Decal: We’re off to a great start because I absolutely loved the “You Look Good” decal that was placed on the top of the box. This vinyl decal is perfect for placing on a mirror or window and you know these boys are going to love the daily reminder! Such a fun extra touch.

TBH Scalp Scrubber: Yes, yes, yes! I know my boys are going to have so much fun with this, and what better way to ensure that they’re doing a good job of cleaning their hair and scalp?  When something that otherwise feels like a chore is made fun – it keeps them engaged and wanting to do more of it! #momwin

TBH Shampoo & Conditioner: I was blown away at this full-sized set of shampoo and conditioner! Each bottle is 12 ounces! That’s an enormous value right there. Both the shampoo and conditioner are made with clean, non-toxic ingredients which I love, and have pump dispensers for extra ease. I feel like this brand (TBH) really gets their customer – boys can be messy – and those pump dispensers are a great way to keep the mess at bay and make it easy to use. So smart.

The next few products are neat because it’s an assortment of items that the boys can use to experiment with as they come up with their own unique hair style that they can feel confident in. I love this opportunity for them to try something new that I may not have thought to buy for them. But that’s what makes Good Guygiene so special I think. They curate and send trusted products that boys can try and use as they’re navigating their own hygiene routine.

Johnny B Lucky Boy Hair Gel: This is a great option for playing around with hair looks that need a strong hold or high shine. I can only imagine the creativity that’s about to go down! Another full sized product, such amazing value.

Brickell Sea Salt Spray: Ok this is super fun – I would have never thought to buy this, but I know that both of my boys are going to want to try it. Long hair is so in right now, and as much as it drives me crazy, they love it – but sea salt spray could be a great option for giving it a little zhuzh.

Boyzz Only Pomade: Another creative find! Pomade is a perfect middle ground option for a medium hold if that’s the look they want.  Love that this is paraben free too.

Paracord Keychain & Button: These fun extras came packaged like a gift which made it feel extra special. Love the thoughtful reminder on the button and I know the boys are going to love the blue colorway of the keychain.

Good Guygiene Review May 2024 – Final Thoughts

Unboxing the Good Guygiene box was pure delight! It literally kept getting better and better! I think the May Hair Necessities box is a genius way for boys to really get creative with their hair hygiene. Not only does it give them the tools and resources to keep their hair clean and healthy, but it also gives them so many options for getting in there and trying something new.  I think that’s where confidence really comes from, feeling empowered to show up in a way that makes you feel proud. These products give them a safe way to push the limits and be creative in discovering who they are and how they want to look.  I love all of it, and I know my boys will too!

Boy mamas, what do you think?  I can’t wait to hear from you!
