With Introverts Retreat each month you’ll open your box and discover items such as soothing bath and body essentials, calming hand-crafted candles, thought-provoking books, health and wellness items, delicious herbal teas, tasty treats or cute things that’ll bring a smile to your face. They kindly sent us this box for review.
Introverts Retreat is new to our marketplace, and let me tell you, I was SO excited when I discovered this box!! I would definitely classify myself as an introvert.
Introvert comes from Latin intro-, “inward,” and vertere, “turning.” It describes a person who tends to turn inward mentally. Introverts sometimes avoid large groups of people, feeling more energized by time alone. The opposite of an introvert is an extrovert, who finds energy in interactions with others.
I love my alone time. I would much rather spend a Friday night at home with a cozy blanket, a book and vegan treats, than out at a party. Here’s a description from the Introverts Retreat website – It’s like a little getaway retreat that you can enjoy at home. Alone.
Let’s have a closer look at the items we received in our very first box!
The Spanish Queen by Carolly Erickson
When young Catherine of Aragon, proud daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, is sent to England to marry the weak Prince Arthur, she is unprepared for all that awaits her: early widowhood, the challenge of warfare with the invading Scots, and the utimately futile attempt to provide the realm with a prince to secure the succession. She marries Arthur’s energetic, athletic brother Henry, only to encounter fresh obstacles, chief among them Henry’s infatuation with the alluring but wayward Anne Boleyn.
In The Spanish Queen, bestselling novelist Carolly Erickson allows the strong-willed, redoubtable Queen Catherine to tell her own story—a tale that carries her from the scented gardens of Grenada to the craggy mountains of Wales to the conflict-ridden Tudor court. Surrounded by strong partisans among the English, and with the might of Spanish and imperial arms to defend her, Catherine soldiers on, until her union with King Henry is severed and she finds herself discarded—and tempted to take the most daring step of her life.
Normally I’m not a fan of historical fiction as I find it a bit too heavy, but the reviews for this book say that it is based loosely on facts and is very entertaining. I’m a bit obsessed with the TV show Reign right now so I have a feeling I might really enjoy this book.
Sex on the Beach Shower Steamer by Fizzle Soap
Calm those nerves and relax with these stress reliever shower bombs. We all have those days where we just had a bad day and need to chill out for a while. Add one of these shower tablets to your shower and unwind in a relaxing, hot shower.
At first I didn’t realize that this was a shower steamer, and now that I know exactly what it is I am even more excited about it. I LOVE shower steamers but haven’t received one in a subscription box for quite some time. I love that they included this.
Bookmarks Upcycled from Dictionary Pages
A unique book mark from upcycled book pages, music paper and dictionary pages.
How cute are these! I appreciate simple items like this. It’s one of those things you always reach for but rarely go out and purchase. I will be happy to have these on hand.
Inner Peace: Music for Your Spirit
There’s a type of music for every mood and occasion, and this disc is sure to set the right tone for your next candlelight dinner, yoga or meditation session, or winter evening spent curled up with a book.
Such a unique idea! I think I have only ever received one other CD in a subscription box. I don’t use them often as I mostly listen to music on my phone, but I love the idea nonetheless. I would play this during a reading session. I like things to be quiet while I read, but not too quiet.
DIY Cross Stitch Necklace Kit by Red Gate Stitchery
A sweet little heart necklace to cross stitch yourself. Made from eco-friendly bamboo, the pendant comes with precision-cut holes that are a breeze to stitch into. It’s a project that’s easy enough for beginners and fun for the most advanced stitchers.
Oh my goodness!! How stinkin’ cute is this little craft project. You all know how I feel about hearts, I love’em! They are my good luck charm. I can’t wait to stitch this necklace. What a great idea for a subscription box!!!

This is the kind of item I expected to see in the box. The perfect thing to do when spending a night in by yourself is have a bath and indulge in some wonderful bath products.
Introverts Retreat Review August 2017 – Final thoughts
What a wonderful subscription! I am so happy with my first Introverts Retreat Box. It’s everything I was hoping it would be. I love that they included a book and some bath products. I also really love the DIY necklace, it is just the cutest thing ever! I certainly wasn’t expecting to receive anything like that, so it was a nice little surprise. The CD definitely fits the theme and I love that the bookmarks are upcylced. I feel like a lot of passion goes into this box. You can tell that they really think about the items rather than just including a bunch of random products. I really can’t wait to see more from this box. It’s so exciting to see a subscription for us introverts. You have no idea how happy this makes me. I wonder if they ever includes tea or treats in the box? That would make for a wonderful night in. And I am really interested to see what they include in their Fall boxes……I’m picturing cozy socks, coffee mugs and pumpkin spice goodies……fingers crossed:)
