Ipsy Glam Bag Review June 2024: Is It Worth It?

It’s been a while since I reviewed Ipsy’s Glam Bag so I started up my subscription again to see what’s new and try it out.  I had stopped for a while because I felt like I was receiving the same types of items, in the same shades, every month.  It’s been a few years now so I’m excited to be back and share what I find with you.

I’ll start by saying I’m not a die-hard beauty kind of gal.  I’m 41, an active mom of two teen boys, and I work from home.  I don’t wear a ton of makeup, and I’m not super adventurous when it comes to beauty products.  I like quality products and I’m willing to pay more for something that’s high quality.  I like trying new things and stepping outside of my comfort zone at times, but for the most part, I like to keep it simple.

The great thing about the Ipsy subscription service is that products are selected based on your personal beauty profile, which you complete prior to subscribing.  This beauty subscription service delivers 5 personalized, deluxe-sample-sized beauty products and a reusable makeup bag.

Unboxing the June 2024 Ipsy Glam Bag

Here’s a look at the personalized assortment of deluxe sample-size products that I received in my glam bag. Remember, the products I received are based on my beauty profile, you may receive slightly different products based on yours.  But this should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Reusable Glam Bag: If there was ever a print that screamed summer, it’s this design! Bright, bold, and full of sunshine!  I also love the wetsuit-esque fabric and sporty zipper. This would be great to travel with or to toss in a beach bag to find essentials like sunscreen and lip balm easier.

JLo Glow by JLo Beauty (5 ml): Each month, we get to choose one of the products for our Ipsy Glam Bag. For June, I chose this one. It’s supposed to lift, tighten, and condition skin for an unbridled glow.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I like the JLo Beauty brand, so I felt like this was a safe pick for my choose one option. Retail Value: $13.17 (full-sized 30 ml value is $79)

Frank Body Scrub & Cleanser: I love Frank Body products (especially their packaging!) and I was pretty excited to see this make it into my Ipsy Glam Bag this month! It’s the Rosehip Body Scrub & Cleanser in just over an ounce. It smells amazing and works really well at removing dead skin buildup. Retail Value: $2.64 (full-sized 250 g value is $22)

Dear Midnight in pHLUX: Ohhh my gosh I was really pumped to find this little gem in my glam bag! It’s a color-changing lip balm that transforms its color based on your unique pH. I remember when this stuff was all the rage but I never tried it for some reason.  So after that FOMO, I was glad to give it a try. And I was so excited by the color!  It applied as a light pink neutral – perfect for my skin tone. This will be a new go-to for me. Retail Value: $8.42 (full-sized 3.8 g value is $16).

Wander Beauty Mile High Club: Yes to this lengthening mascara.  Even on days when I don’t wear full makeup, I always wear mascara. I’m kind of picky about my mascara but so far this one is working well.  I like that it really does lengthen, but I also like a little more volume, so it may not be my new favorite, but I’ll definitely use it up. Retail Value: $10.11 (full-sized 9 g value is $26).

Sophia + Mabelle Palette: This bronzer and highlighter combo looked pretty at first glance but I wasn’t sure if I was going to love it as I had never heard of this brand before and the packaging felt a little cheap.  But, I was pleasantly surprised after giving it a try. The highlighter blends nicely and a little goes a long way.  The bronzer has a nice tone that feels really buildable.  I love that it’s compact even though it’s technically full-sized!  This will be great to travel with! Retail Value: $22.

June 2024 Ipsy Glam Bag Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed receiving this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag!  I felt like there was a nice variety of items included and I really loved just about all of them.  I felt like Ipsy really considered my the preferences I had set in my beauty profile, which was something I hadn’t really experienced when I was a subscriber a few years ago.  But I’m really pleased to see that the curation has improved and I can’t wait to see what’s in my bag next month!

As far as value, the products I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag had a total retail value of $56.34 not including the bag itself because I didn’t see a retail value for that.  But for $14, I’m really happy with it! Out of everything in the bag, I would have purchased the pHLUX lip balm and the Frank Body Scrub on my own, so I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth for this one.

If you’re a beauty, skincare, or makeup lover and you like to try a lot of different types of products then the value for the Ipsy Glam Bag is absolutely there and I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I think it would make a great gift for beauty lovers or someone who wants to up their beauty game, too!
