Ipsy Glam Bag Review September 2024

I’ve been trying out a lot of beauty subscriptions lately – so when my Ipsy Glam Bag arrived it was perfect timing to compare it to a few others that I’ve been testing.  Do you want me to do a comparison post? The Ipsy Glam Bag is $14 per month with free US shipping ($3.95 shipping to Canada).  You’ll receive five personalized, deluxe-size beauty samples (worth up to $70) sent in a cute makeup bag. You also get to choose one product for your bag each month.

Unboxing the September 2024 Ipsy Glam Bag

Here’s a look at the personalized assortment of deluxe sample-size products that I received in my glam bag. Remember, the products I received are based on my beauty profile, you may receive slightly different products based on yours.  But this should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Reusable Glam Bag: I thought this month’s bag was super cute! I loved the acrylic charm on the zipper and the new-age pattern. Felt a little mystical. I love that it’s lined and the pops of green on the zipper.

FanFest Mascara by Benefit: This is a deluxe sample size, approximately .1 oz – but it would be perfect for a weekend getaway and easy to travel with. I like that it’s volumizing and fanning. It says it will last 24 hours, so we’ll see!  I do really like every product I’ve ever tried from Benefit, so I like that this is a trusted brand and I know it’ll be a good quality.

Jelly Cream by InnisFree: I’ve never heard of this brand before, or this product but it looks like it’s a moisturizer, intended to be used after cleansing and toning. It’s a clear jelly like consistency, so it’s throwing me off slightly, but I think it’s a moisturizer that’s used to brighten and add glow. I’m a little bit curious about this one!

Eyeshadow Brush: This is a cute brush – it has two little “diamonds” on the stem and is nice and soft and full.  I will definitely be replacing one of my older, worn-out brushes with this one. I think it’s nice to get brushes in beauty bags sometimes because it’s something I never buy for myself but I know they should be replaced more often than I do!  So this is a nice cue to do that.

Pinklipps Eyeshadow Palette: This is a full-sized mini palette with 5 colors in the nude, neutral, and mauve color family. They’re pretty colors, definitely colors I would use – but two are shimmery. Like really shimmery. So I’m not sure about those. Maybe for a special occasion. I can also tell that the quality isn’t as high as some of my other palettes so this one might not be a fit for me.

Eloise Blush: I had to google this one because I couldn’t tell if it was a blush, an eyeshadow, a bronzer or something else!  It looked too light to be a bronzer, but it’s pretty neutral to be a blush. Turns out, it IS a bush indeed.  It is a very neutral shade with a little pink and orange undertone, so would probably be best for super fair skin.  I don’t think I’ll be using this one.

September 2024 Ipsy Glam Bag Final Thoughts

I thought this month’s Ipsy Glam bag was just ok.  I will definitely use the make up brush and the mascara, and I really liked the bag this month. I’ll probably give the jelly a try – just to see what it’s like. But I wasn’t overly thrilled about the palette or the blush. The good news is, I do have a niece who will be thrilled to take these items off my hands!

I definitely think the Ipsy Glam Bag is a great choice for a teen who is curious about makeup, skincare, or beauty.  I feel like lately the products are skewing a little on the younger side. But it’s a great price for a variety of items and makes a really fun gift too.
