Jiyubox Review Fall 2020

I had the pleasure of reviewing Jiyubox for the first time last season and I was so impressed. Skincare is a touchy subject for me as I went through a period of time where my skin was very sensitive. As a result I’ve never really been a fan os skincare boxes until….Jiyubox came along. I absolutely loved everything I received in the Summer box. I can tell that they took their time curating the products and I am more than confident in their choices.

Fast forward to the Fall Jiyubox and I am just as excited (if not more) to test out the items they have curated for us this time around.

GUNITA Honey, Fig + Ginger Candle by Kilig Candle Co.

Calling all candle lovers! This soy-based candle will leave you feeling energized and invigorated. Start off your self care routine by lighting this baby to reset the mood. The key notes of this candle are sweet honey, fresh figs, and a zing of ginger for a light and upbeat scent.

It’s kind of funny, I made a comment in my YouTub unboxing about lighting this candle prior to your skincare routine and I was mostly joking….. but now that I think about it I actually really love the idea of lighting a candle, slowing down and taking my time each evening when I prepare my skin for bed.

Moisturizing Oil Cleanser + Make Up Remove by Province Apothecary

The next step in your routine is to remove any impurities from your skin. We love this oil cleanser because it does a wonderful job of removing all of our makeup from a long day. Use 3 pumps on dry skin and gently massage to break apart makeup and clean pores. Key ingredients avocado and raspberry seed oil will keep your skin hydrated and avoid irritation making it ideal for all skin types including acne-prone. 

If you haven’t tried a oil cleanser before, you MUST! I was a little hesitant at first but oil cleasners are so wonderful. They are great at removing makeup, even stubborn mascara, and they leave your skin oh-so-soft.

Superfruit AHA Brightening Masque by OM Organics

Once your skin is prepped from cleansing, it’s masque time! This mask will leave your skin feeling super smooth and bright thanks to its superfruit complex of natural AHAs to gently exfoliate skin. PSA: This masque smells like a yummy smoothie, so we don’t blame you if you get a little hungry while it’s working its magic. 

I love the texture and scent of this mask. It looks, feels and smells so inviting. I also like the fact that it will smooth and brighten. I definitely need to start adding a weekly mask back in to my skincare routine.

Invigorating + Balancing Toner by Province Apothecary

This cooling toner is perfect for re-balancing skin after masking and cleansing. This alcohol free formula will hydrate and smooth skin without disrupting the pH balance. It also helps to absorb your next steps like moisturizer, serums, or oils better so they penetrate deeper into the skin.

Ok…..I really need to get on the toner trend. I have never really used a toner before but after reading the description for this one I feel like I need to give it a try. I like the idea of prepping my skin prior to applying my serum and oil.

Geranium Orange Blossom Face Cream by Wildcraft

Finish off your ritual with this luxurious face cream. Thick, but not oily, this cream has a high concentration of essential fatty acids that work to help plump and firm. Its key ingredients like rosehip seed and geranium oil encourage skin renewal and a subtle pleasant aroma. 

Typically I prefer a face oil as opposed to a cream but I am LOVING the texture of this one and feel like it is essentially a solid oil. It’s made with two of my favourites, rosehip and geranium, and I love how thick it is.

Jiyubox Review Fall 2020 – Final Thoughts

The Fall Jiyubox is giving me all the positive vibes. I had a good feeling about it the moment I opened the box. I am so impressed with the curation, the mixture of products, and the quality brands. We received a little bit of everything – cleanser, toner, mask, and cream. I am excited to test out all 4 skincare products and look forward to lighting my new candle in order to create a relaxing atmosphere prior to my nightly skincare routine. I so often rush through the process and feel like it’s time to slow down and truly enjoy it.
