Here’s a closer look at July’s theme and the items I received this month….

Included in every box is a mini pamphlet that gives you descriptions of each item in the box. This is very helpful since many of these items don’t come with instructions in English.

July’s Theme – Summer Festival

The theme for July’s Kawaii Box is Summer Festival. The box is curated with items that will keep you looking and feeling cute all summer long.

Sanrio Pyoconoru Hanging Plush

Pyoconoru are tiny plushies that can hang off computer monitors, tables, or any surface with a ledge! I received an adorable lazy Gudetama (my favorite Sanrio character ever), but sadly he doesn’t fit over my iMac monitor. However, he does sit perfectly on my desk ledge!

Gudetama Stickers

As mentioned above, Gudetama is my favorite character! These stickers show him in all of his lazy forms and poses. These are perfect to use for scrapbooking, for your notebooks/planners, or anything!

Sweet Donut Hair Ties

The Sweet Donut Hair Ties come in a pack of two and I am obsessed with them! They feature a blue donut mostly covered in a pink icing with rainbow sprinkles along the center. I think these are adorable and I can see myself wearing this funky piece out during the summer or during a festival!

Kawaii Unicorn Nail Stickers

This pack of mini nail stickers contains numerous unicorn designs along with rainbows, stars, hearts, ice cream cones and crowns. These are easy to stick onto your nails and are another great item for the summer festival theme.

DIY Whipped Cream Cupcake Kit

The DIY Whipped Cream Cupcake Kit is a fun toy that features everything you need to create whipped cream cupcakes! It includes a mini serving tray, tongs, tiny dessert and cupcake cups, as well as “cream” and toppings. This is something I’m saving to give to my niece because she loves playing with these kinds of DIY kits. Side note though, I noticed that this item actually has Korean writing all over the front and back of the packaging.

Kabaya Watermelon Gummies

The Kabaya Watermelon Gummies are shaped like miniature watermelon slices and are coated in sugar crystals. These are chewy, delicious, and just a tad softer than your average gummy bear. This was a fun addition to this summer themed box. Plus, I love gummies!

Syringe Highlighter Pen

The Syringe-shaped Highlighter Pen features a yellow highlighter that is comfortable to hold. It’s a unique and fun addition to my work desk! This would also be great for kids who love to play doctor.

Flamingo Multicolor Pen

The Flamingo Multicolor Pen includes a plethora of colors from all over the rainbow. It’s a pen that has it all! The animal on top is actually a swan, but the body of the pen has a flamingo print design with the saying “Because I’m Nice.” How sassy, and cute!

Sanrio Characters Washi Tape

I have a small collection of Washi Tape which I love to collect, so I’m happy to receive this! I received the Little Twin Stars variety which features Kiki and Lala, a twin star duo. Washi tape can be used for any crafting project, especially scrapbooking mementos, photo albums or taping things to your planner!

Mochi Squeeze Toy Charm

Mochi is a Japanese rice cake dessert that I love eating IRL, but I was disappointed with this item. It features a plain white squishy blob with an attached chain that you can attach to a keyring or bag. I can see how the squeeze toy can be a stress reliever and it does resemble a real mochi, but the actual squishy felt really sticky! It attracts all kinds of lint and is so hard to keep clean.

Kawaii Box July 2018 Review – Final Thoughts

This is my first month receiving the Kawaii Box and overall, I am pretty impressed with the contents. This is one of the more affordable kawaii boxes available, and it was filled with a good amount of items including a great variety like stationary, toys, candy, nail decor, and hair accessories. There was also a great combination of items that were both kawaii AND functional, like all of the stationary supplies, which I can never get enough of! I don’t think the majority of the items really fit towards the monthly theme (personally, not a big deal for me), but you can expect to always receive cute items nonetheless. My favorite items this month has got to be the Sweet Donut Hair Ties, the Kabaya Watermelon Gummies, and the Sanrio Pyoconoru Hanging Plush!
