Here’s a closer look at the snacks we received in our June Laid Back Snacks box….

First Date Bites

First dates can be really great, or slow and excruciating experiences. There’s often not a lot of middle ground … we think you’ll be crushing on our First Date Bites from the opening hello. In the pros column, each bite contains deliciously sweet fresh dates, bone fortifying almonds and high fibre quinoa crisps. In the cons column, you might get a little handsy once you get started. Remember to play it cool and leave something for the second date.

Ingredients: Sugars (dates, coconut), Almonds, Quinoa crisps

It’s been a little while since I’ve had First Date Bites, I think I gifted the last bag to my Mother-In-Law. So, I was happy to see them in the box because they are a really great snack when you need something sweet.

Cracked Pepper Pistachios

Freshly cracked black pepper is one of life’s great flavours. We’ve added it generously to our delicious sauce, carefully poured that over our perfect pistachios, and then slow roasted the whole lot to give you the best in taste and goodness. Pistachios are chock-full of protein, healthy fats and fibre. They also have a low glycemic index (GI) value, which provides a longer lasting source of fuel than a high carb snack. What a nut!

Ingredients: Pistachios, Lemon zest, Lemon juice, Salt, Sugars (coconut sugar), Black pepper

To be totally honest, pistachios in the shell aren’t my favorite snack to eat due to the fact that they are time consuming, lol. But, with that being said, I have been looking for an evening snack, something to munch on while we watch Vikings, and this might be a good option simply because it will take me longer to eat them:)

Ginger Staycation

Ginger Staycation is a laid back, relaxed kind of snack. Take a break from the day and do something that’s all about you. Australian crystallized ginger mingles with our gourmet selection of nuts to offer a delightfully chilled taste profile. And let’s not forget the chocolate. Dark chocolate is both delicious and really nutritious – it’s linked to 40+ health benefits. Who knew that kicking back could be so good for you!

Ingredients: Sugars (70% dark chocolate buttons (sugar, soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavour), crystallized ginger (cane sugar, ginger, citric acid)), Almonds, Toasted walnuts

Ginger Stacation is a great mix, but you really have to be in the mood for ginger as the flavour spreads itself around to all the other goodies in the bag. But, if you love ginger then you will most definitely love this particular mix.

Honeybee Chicks

While the bees are making honey, we’re thinking-up ways to drizzle it on to our healthy and delicious snacks. Say “hello-nom-nom” to Honeybee Chicks! These chickpeas are slow roasted for extra crunch before being covered with sweet honey goodness. There’s no sting in sight with this perfect nut-free snack. Chickpeas are chock-full of protein, fibre and essential vitamins which are just a few of the things you’ll need on hand for whatever buzzing around you need to do!

Ingredients: Chickpeas, sugars (cane sugar, wildflower honey), sunflower oil, sea salt, natural honey flavour

Honeybee Chicks is a brand new snack from Laid Back Snacks and I have been dying to try it because I love chickpeas and I love anything sweet. This would be another great snack when you are craving sugar but are trying to be healthy.

Wooster Sure Almonds

Pip pip and tally ho old chap! Worcestershire Sauce was invented in England in the 19th century in Worcestershire England. You may have had it before on your deviled eggs, or in your caesar cocktail. Here ye, here ye — we bring it to you now lovingly roasted on our nutrient-rich almonds. Enjoy all the antioxidant and blood pressure benefits of snacking on almonds, now with the jolly good savoury taste sensation of Worcestershire Sauce. Ta-ra.

Ingredients: Dry roasted almonds, Sugars (cane sugar, molasses), Apple cider vinegar, Expeller pressed canola oil, Sea salt, Tapioca starch, Powder of onion, Powder of garlic, Spices.

The Wooster Sure Almonds are another new(ish) snack as they were only released a few months ago. I happen to really love Worcestershire Sauce so these were an instant hit with me.

Laid Back Snacks Review June 2021 – Final Thoughts

My June Laid Back Snacks box doesn’t include any of my current faves, but instead it includes a few snacks I haven’t had for a while, and a couple new releases, both of which I am excited about. I rave about this snack subscription every month because it has become one of my favorite boxes to receive. A quick way to my heart is via snacks…….and the fact that these ones are delivered straight to my door and are a mix of 80% wholesome goodness, 20% live a little is just the icing on the cake!
