Lillypost Review February 2020
Lillypost is a monthly book subscription box that sends children’s books to your door! Each month, tiny fingers will discover carefully curated books, a note, and stickers for fun! They kindly sent us this box for review.
Today I get to review Lillypost for the very first time. Lillypost has been shipping since 2016 but I just discovered it a couple months ago. I absolutely LOVE the idea of receiving children’s books in the mail each month. What a wonderful way to build baby’s library. Let’s have a closer look…..
Subscription Details
Lillypost was founded on the idea that reading is fundamental to the development of every child. The love of books and learning starts early in life and what better way to ignite that love, than a child receiving an entirely new set of books every month? Discover books for the special little one in your life from newborn to 7 years old at up to 70% off retail price! Each box includes 4 board books or 3 picture books (or a mix of both!) to engage and entertain.
Here’s a peek at the books I received in the Lillypost Board Book Box for February…
Finnley the Fox
As a welcome gift we have included your very own stuffed animal friend, Finnley! Have fun sharing new stories and adventures togethers for years to come.
What a thoughtful little gift! I certainly wasn’t expecting to see this in my first Lillypost box. This is a sweet gesture and a lovely way to welcome new subscribers.
Coloring Contest
Each month, your little one can enter our fun colouring contest! All you have to do is color, paint or draw our fox, Finnley, into this month’s theme – right on the bottom of the Lillypost box! Get creative, take a picture and post it on either Facebook or Instagram using #lillypostbox. Contest closes on March 15th.
What a wonderful way to create a community among Lillypost subscribers! Not only does it provide a little fun for your child, it also encourages them to re-purpose the box.
Touch and Trace Farm
Introduce your child to early writing skills in this innovative trace-and-flip book. Using their finger, children can trace each grooved trail to explore it’s shape and pattern. Colourful lift-the-flaps add to the fun.
Interactive books are my favorite! This one allows your child to touch, trace and lift flaps. It also gets them involved by asking them to find the shapes they just traced.
Ten on the Sled
There were 10 on the sled and the caribou said…. “Slip over! Slide over!”….. and a grand, snowy adventure was launched.
This is the cutest book! A different take on “10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed”. It’s also a great way to teach your little one their numbers.
Slide and Find Nursery Rhymes
Slide, pull, and turn to change the scenes inside this sweet nursery rhyme book and find out what happens in each one.
I am LOVING the illustrations in this book. They are unbelivebly cute. And really…..no collection would be complete without a nursery rhyme book. The sliders and pulls are super fun. This definitely would have been my favorite book when I was young.
Shapes
Let’s learn our shapes – just lift the flap and see! Can you find a circle? A triangle? A square? Let’s look together, we’ll find them everywhere.
This shape book is just too fun! Each page features a different shape and has flaps for your child to open up. Under the flaps they will discover different objects that match the shape.
Lillypost Review February 2020 – Final Thoughts
I am absolutely in love with my first Lillypost box! It exceeded my expectations. From the packaging, to the welcome gift, to the colouring contest, and of course the books – everything is well thought out and curated to perfection. The Board Book Box is only $24.95 CAD per month, which is extremely reasonable for what you get. Not to mention the fact that it saves me a trip to the book store, AND for every box purchased Lillypost donates a book on your behalf to a child in need. I am already a HUGE fan of this subscription and can’t wait for my next box to arrive.
