Lillypost Review January 2021
Lillypost is a monthly book subscription box that sends children’s books to your door! Each month, tiny fingers will discover carefully curated books, a note, and stickers for fun! They kindly sent us this box for review.
I have to admit….baby Steven and I have been in a serious book rut as of late. We have a couple favourites and rotate back and forth between the two rather than exploring all the other wonderful books we have in our collection. So….I’m using my January Lillypost box as a little reminder, and a little kick in the butt, to get out of our rut and enjoy some new reads.
Subscription Details
Lillypost was founded on the idea that reading is fundamental to the development of every child. The love of books and learning starts early in life and what better way to ignite that love, than a child receiving an entirely new set of books every month? Discover books for the special little one in your life from newborn to 7 years old at up to 70% off retail price!
What You Get: Each box includes 4 board books or 3 picture books (or a mix of both!) to engage and entertain.
Lillypost Gives Back – For every box that is purchased, Lillypost will donate one book to a child in need through various charities.
Here’s a peek at the books I received in the Lillypost Board Book Box for January…
Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse
Join Mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie as he celebrates Valentine’s Day with all the friends he loves.
I was SO hoping to find a Valentine’s book in my January box and here it is. This is a great excuse to get out of our book rut and focus on some holiday themed books for the next couple weeks.
Learn Shapes
Introduce shapes in 4 playful steps. Name each shape together. Finger-trace shapes to enhance learning. Read and point to the things that make each shape unique. Introduce each new shape as a lift-the-flap surprise.
Such a great way to help baby learn his shapes. And you all know I love lift-the-flap books, so this one will definitely become a fave.
Arctic Animals
Let’s go to the frozen Arctic and meet the animals that live there.
I absolutely love the idea of this book. Is it bad to say that I will learn something from it as well, and I will probably read it to baby Steven for selfish reasons? I just think it will be so fun to learn about all the animals that live in the Arctic.
There’s a Dragon in Your Book
There’s a little dragon in your book! She’s oh-so-cute, but watch out for her fiery sneezes.
This is such a cute little book. The illustrations are very simple and focus mostly on the adorable little dragon himself. Baby Steven received a stuff dragon the day after he was born and it looks just like the one in the book.
Lillypost Review January 2021 – Final Thoughts
I say this every month but Lillypost is one four favorite boxes to receive. I love that it has encouraged me to start reading to Steven at a very, very young age, and I love that it has helped me create an amazing library for him. I’m especially excited about our January box mostly because of the Valentine’s Day book. It’s so darn cute and it will be the perfect addition to our Valentine’s Day book nook.
