Little Life Box had a good start this January with a lot of products that I enjoyed, so I was very curious of what was to come in February. Also, the first two boxes I received were the Original box and Little Life box sent me the Vegan box to try this month.

The products came in a nice box with a floral pattern inside. For February, Little Life Box went for a blue silky paper attached with the Little Life Box logo. There was also the monthly quote and eleven products to discover. Let’s see what’s inside…

Ginkgo Extra Tablets – A.Vogel

Helps to support microcirculation in skin and the liver in aging population. Fresh green leaves from the Ginkgo Biloba tree are gathered each spring to create A.Vogel’s fresh herb tincture and tablets.

Being 31 years old, I am not the target audience for this product but I did some research and it can also help to reduce anxiety, PMS and sight disorders. I will keep this product in mind, but I might gift those tablets to my grandparents.

Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C – LivOn Labs

LivOn’s patented Lypo-Spheric™ Vitamin C encapsulates the C molecules in liposomes made from Essential Phospholipids, which protect the C from destruction by your digestive juices. Within minutes of taking Lypo-Spheric™ Vitamin C, liposomes filled with Vitamin C are transported directly into the bloodstream, and into the cells.

Vitamin C helps iron absorption, has antioxidant properties, supports collagen production and is an important aid in the development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums. I am not so sure about that specific product, because I like simplicity and a multivitamin is my go to choice. You need to squeeze the supplement in 1 to 3 ounces of a cold beverage of your choice and take it in one big gulp (it cannot be mixed). You also have to take it on an empty stomach and wait 15 minutes before eating your breakfast. It does not fit in my busy morning routine, but it looks like an interesting product.

Plant-Based Protein – Caramel Coffee Flavour – PROFI

PROFI Caramel Coffee provides a convenient and delicious way to boost your protein throughout the day. On its own or mixed in your favourite recipe, delicious every time!

One serving (30 g) offers 20 g of protein, 175 mg of potassium and 4.5 mg of iron (¼ of what you should take in a day). The protein powder does not contain dairy and it is also soy free. Personally, I do not like coffee and hate the taste of it even mixed with sugar, so I already know that protein mix is not for me, but for those who likes coffee, I am sure the combination of caramel and coffee is a must.

Beet Latte – Organic Traditions (sample)

This is the most delicious, dairy free, coconut based beet latte that you will ever experience! This latte delivers 1 billion beneficial live heat stable probiotics with every serving. Beets are rich in potent antioxidants and have amazing liver and blood-cleansing properties. The blending of beet turns this latte into a powerhouse combo. Give your liver a hug by nourishing yourself with this earthy, uplifting drink.

Organic traditions is a brand that I discovered a few years ago and I love their products. A beet latte with fermented beet and probiotics, that is definitely new to me, but I will be happy to give it a try. It is recommended to add Ashwagandha or any other adaptogen for added benefits and it can also be enjoyed over ice, for an iced latte.

Smart Lime + – Lemonade – Bolema

Ashwagandha and Asian ginseng have been used for memory enhancement, to help support cognitive functions and reduce mental fatigue for thousands of years.

It is the second time I receive a bottle of this brand. Last time it was the Maca+. I am happy to try another flavour with different ingredients. Like any good lemonade, there is a lot of sugar (from organic sugar cane) but it is only 90 calories per bottles. I would not drink one bottle every day, but the 2000 mg of Ashwagandha, the 500 mg of ginseng and their properties got me intrigued.

Mini Brownies – Cacao Chocolate – RAW Vitality (2 sample of 50 g)

We only use the best raw ingredients in our brownies. Once you sample them, you’ll know that we’ve made no compromises or cut any corners. Made with super ingredients, our brownies are made with a delicious blend of soaked nuts and soaked and sprouted seeds and raw cacao.

I wanted chocolate in the February box and got mini brownies. That’s a good deal. Unfortunately for me, raw almonds have caused me an allergic reaction for some time now, so I could only smell those oh so good smelling bites and let my husband enjoy the treat.

The cacao, almonds and coconut are the most dominant in taste, but it is packed with so much more like acai, chia seeds and sprouted quinoa. There is no added sugar and it is gluten, soy and lactose free. The organic bites contain 5 g of protein and with 130 calories for one, that makes a good afternoon snack.

Keto Bars – Chocolate, Maple Hazelnut and Supergreens with Moringa – Key-to Life

Our KEY-TO LIFE Keto Bars are different because they taste good, are intentionally high fat, 1g SUGAR and have very low net carbs (total carbs – fiber = net carbs).

Since I have eliminated a lot of sugar source in my life, the keto lifestyle has a great appeal to me. These bars look healthy, packed with good ingredients like almond, hemp protein, spirulina, pumpkin seeds and many more ingredients. If almonds were not a problem for me (allergic wise) this would be a bar I would keep in my snack drawer at work.

Fruit Bar – Mango, Apple, Chia – Pressed by Kind

We pressed only fruit and chia into this bar, so that you can enjoy the simplest ingredients with no sugar added and 2 full servings of fruit. Plus, a source of fiber, which you can’t always get from juice. The quick, convenient way to add fruit to your daily routine.

I like the concept, the ingredients (mango, apple, chia seeds) and the fact that it is a good source of vitamin C, potassium and fiber. The only thing that I do not like is the 21 g of sugar it contains. Even from a natural source, that is a lot of sugar in one bar. It is very enjoyable, but I will eat it more like a desert than an afternoon snack.

Organic Spelt Cookies – Sweet Potato & Ginger – Love Child (two bags)

We make our Owlie cookies from spelt, which is known to be easier to digest than wheat. Owlies are a fun, wholesome treat for toddlers and big kids alike.

I went first for these Owlie cookies (they are too cute to resist!). Sweet potato and ginger is not a mix I would have thought of and it actually tastes delicious. I also asked my boys (four and seven years old) to try them and they both enjoyed the snack. The ingredient list is composed of simple and healthy ingredients and I would be comfortable giving this as a treat to toddlers.

Little Life Box Review February 2019 – Final Thoughts

The February Little Life Box was filled with healthy products and I had fun learning about all of them (they were all new to me). I had a crush on some (like the Owlie cookies, the Smart Lime and the Mini Brownies even if I could not eat them) and felt a bit less incline for others, but I was happy to try the Vegan box (I had tried it only once a few years ago). The box has a great value of approximately $70 and there was nice mix of supplements and snacks. The only thing missing this month was maybe a bath or body product.
