Little Life Box Review January 2018

Little Life Box is a Canadian subscription box that gives you the opportunity to sample and experience new green, organic and health conscious products in a convenient and fun way that saves you money. Little Life Box kindly sent us this box to review.

This is my first time reviewing Little Life Box and I am so excited to walk you through the unboxing process. Little Life box has been in our directory for quite some time and it easily a favorite with our team. I am not a vegan myself but I absolutely love discovering new healthy products and snacks!

Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the January vegan box……

Central Roast Raw Mixed Nuts

An all-natural healthy unsalted snack packed with almonds, filberts, brazil nuts, cashews and pecans. Each nut in our raw mix is packed with healthy fats, fiber and protein.

Nuts are such a great staple snack to have on hand. I think I might keep one of the bags in my purse for the next time I am out and feeling a bit peckish, which seems to be all the time these days. I love having a healthier option to grab on the go. Cashews are my favorite nut so I am so excited to see they are included in this mix!

Magnesium Powder – Natural Calm

We’re big fans of all things natural and healthy, 2 things that describe this magnesium powder very well, which features a proprietary process that provides the most absorbable, effective, fast-acting magnesium available anywhere.  The 100% water-soluble magnesium citrate becomes ionic when dissolved in very hot water and can relieve many symptoms associated with magnesium deficiency quickly and effectively.

I feel like we can all use a little calm in our life. I tell ya, if this drink works I am going to order a lifetime supply lol! Day to day life can feel a little overwhelming at times so a product like this to have on hand for those crazy moments is a welcome addition. Magnesium is also great for helping muscles relax, giving you that calm “sleepy” feeling and helping you unwind after a long day.

Powder Pudding – Simply Delicious

This powder pudding is made entirely with non-GMO ingredients, these all-natural desserts contain no preservatives or artificial colors.

This is a fun little healthy treat that I think my kiddos will enjoy as an afternoon snack! I love that they have provided instructions for using both dairy and non-dairy substitutes as so many people are lactose intolerant or embracing a plant-based diet. I happen to be a big fan of fruit flavored anything, especially strawberry so I was thrilled to see this flavor over a basic chocolate or vanilla.

Justin’s Classic Almond Butter

Justin’s offers exceptional, great tasting nut butters for all, available in 454g jars and 32g squeeze packs that provide on-the-go protein, convenience and portion controlled options.

Full disclosure – I have never tried almond butter! Crazy I know. I am embarrassed to say that my household (aside from me) will only embrace the sugary peanut butters. Having said that I am super excited to give this a try! I am considering trying a Keto diet and peanuts are a no go so the almond butter will save me on days I am craving a little spread. It smells amazing and I think I will pair it with some cut up apples for an afternoon nibble.

Nature Clean Dishwasher Pacs

Taste your food, not chlorine! Nature Clean® Dishwasher Pacs are high performing without the use of chlorine, phosphates, perfumes, dyes or animal by-products. This product is vegan, gluten-free, kosher, septic and grey water safe. Biodegradable and not tested on animals.

I love that they included a household cleaning item this month! Dishwasher pacs are a must have in my opinion and it’s nice to see they are made without the harmful chemicals so many similar products have. I have recently been reconsidering a few of my cleaning products as I know they aren’t the best for the environment or our health. I’m happy to see two samples so that I can get a good idea of how well they work and feel confident before switching out my current product for this one!

Karen’s Naturals Freeze Dried Strawberries and Bananas

Nothing’s more scrumptious than sweet, juicy strawberries mingled with ripe bananas. Picked fresh and dried at low temperatures to preserve flavor and essential nutrients, Just Strawberries & Bananas make a delightfully crunchy treat. Add them to cereal, oatmeal, smoothies or pies for an intense burst of flavor.

These were so darn delicious that I ate the whole bag in the opening sentence of this review. I’m not even kidding you. So much for not eating sugar! At least I can feel good about the sugar being natural. It’s so great to receive a box that provides you with snacks that you can feel good about. It’s hard to imagine by the taste that strawberries and bananas are the only ingredients! I better hide the bag in the garbage so the kids don’t ask where theirs are!

Oneka Body Lotion

This unscented lotion is completely fragrance free. Perfect for sensitive skin, the calendula and burdock root enrich the formula with their soothing properties. Nettle extract helps firm the skin while sage works to repair and restore it. A gentle product from the Oneka line.

Decode 3-in-1 Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash

Maximize both space and time with this all-natural 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. This ultimate multitasker is all you need to clean and condition your hair and skin, making your morning routine as efficient as possible.

I have mixed feelings about little samples like this. On one hand they are super convenient to have stashed away for weekend getaways and on the other hand I sometimes find that there isn’t quite enough to get a good feel for how well the product works. The lotion may go a little further this month as I will likely use it as a hand lotion in my purse as I just realized the other day I am completely out.  The 3-in-1 will definitely go to the hubs to decide if he wants a one time use in the shower or to store it in his travel bag for later.

Turmeric Teas Winter Tea

Warming organic ginger loose leaf tea with turmeric root. Caffeine free.

Tea is one of my favorite items to receive in a subscription box. I have discovered many of my favorites this way. This winter blend contains ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, black cracked pepper and cloves for an incredible spicy blend. Turmeric has incredible healing properties, health benefits, and  immunity booster. It smells like gingerbread and I can hardly wait to brew some and enjoy with a book this weekend.

Urban Spa Pedicure Kit

This cute and compact nail kit has all you need to get those feet into tip top toe shape. Kit includes a nail clipper, an emery board, cuticle pusher, nail file, foot file, and travel case.

This cute little kit is going straight into my travel bag along with the sample beauty products we received this month. I think I have mentioned before that nail clippers are an item that always seems to go missing in our house so I am relieved to have my own and will gladly keep them in hiding in my travel bag, where no one will think to look.

LaRitzy Black Eye Pencil

A dramatic and bold eye pencil designed for a flawless application.

I was just telling a friend the other day that if I was only allowed 1 makeup item for the rest of my life it would be black eyeliner so you can imagine my excitement when I saw black eyeliner as the makeup item this month! I usually stick to liquid as I find it doesn’t smudge as much but I am open to a good quality pencil as well. I see this brand quite frequently in subscription boxes and it seems be to a staple with Little Life Box.

Little Life Box Review January 2018 – Final Thoughts

All in all I think Little Life Box did a great job with the January Box. They included some super fun snackies, a few beauty products and a couple pantry staples. I know the snacks won’t last long, and by long I’m talking end of the day because they are just that good. I am most excited for the turmeric tea, my new eyeliner and giving the Almond butter a fair shot. The pedicure kit was fun addition to the box and will definitely come in handy as will the magnesium calming drink! In a perfect world I would love to see a full size beauty product instead of the two samples we received but I think they more than made up for it with the full size Almond Butter! In fact I think I am going to go dig into it right now with some apple slices!
