The products came in a nice box with a floral pattern inside. For January, Little Life Box opted for a green silky paper attached with the Little Life Box logo. There was also the monthly quote and eleven products to discover. Let me show you more.
Chocolate Macaroon – Sun-Rype
These little bites are vegan and so delicious! They are made from simple ingredients that shines together. Dates, seeds, seeds butter, coconut and dark chocolate chips makes a fulfilling snack. Definitely a perfect office snack for me (I shared some with my co-workers and everyone loved it).
Roasted Green Peas – Lightly Salted – Three Farmers
I think I discovered this brand in a previous box and was pleased to see a Pea Pops bag again. It is a snack full of protein and fiber and it is also gluten-free and vegan. You can easily trade a bag of chips for a handful of these and feel satisfied.
Shelled Hemp Seed – Hemp Hearts – SAMPLE
I already have a big bag of these hemp seeds in my pantry and I add some to my muffins, energy balls and other baked goods. It is a super easy way to add protein, omegas and iron in your daily meals and snacks.
Quinoa Chips – Sea Salt – Simply 7
The sea salt flavor is a good way to get introduced to quinoa chips. They are a lot healthier than regular potato chips and taste as good (even if it does not bring the same experience). It is a healthy go to when you crave a salty snack.
Hydration Sports Beverage – Fruit Punch Flavour – Pro Circuit
Mixed with 500 ml of water, this powder boosts your electrolytes when performing any sports activity. I have tried similar products in the past, but could not tell if it really helped me in some way during my workouts. I am not a big fan of “fructose”, and “dextrose” in the ingredient list, but I might give it a try during my next workout (I will keep it for a more challenging session).
U-Cubes, Vitamin C – Sour Gummies – SiSU
I am so happy I got these little cubes since I wanted my kids to try SiSU’s vitamins. I received 3 packs of 4 sour gummies filled with vitamin C (I had 5 in the packaged I opened, yeah, a bonus!). I knew my kids would like these, so I gave it a try as well. It tastes good and the sourness is not unpleasant. I found the piece to be a bit hard to chew and the sugar-coating is not necessary in my opinion, so a good teeth brushing might be necessary after.
Skin Gel – Nature’s Aid
Nature’s Aid skin gel is a soothing all-purpose natural treatment for skin care like eczema and rashes but can also be put in your first aid kit to treat insect bites and sunburns for example. You can also use it as a beauty product to apply alone or with your daily face cream.
The smell of the tea tree essential oil is a bit too powerful for me to want to put it on my face, but I will definitely try it on my hands and other areas. Tea tree essential oil have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so I have big hopes it will work on my eczema.
Chlorophyll with Activated Charcoal – Mint – Pure-lé Natural
Chlorophyll is known to be a gentle cleanser. It also improves your blood count, eliminates body odors and helps purify the liver to name just a few health benefits. I received Pure-lé Natural chlorophyll flavored with mint. I had tried similar products before and was not a big fan… I mixed a teaspoon of chlorophyll in a cup of water and gave it a try. The mint flavor is not too powerful and I could not taste the earthy, greeny flavor I tasted with other brands.
Shower Gel – Goldenseal+Citrus – Oneka – SAMPLE
I tried Oneka’s shower gel and felt in love with the fragrance. The blend of citrus and goldenseal (a boreal plant) is energizing and it literally brought a smile to my face. It left my skin clean and smooth. I have sensitive skin and had no problem with this product. The ingredients are all natural and safe for your skin. Also, thumbs up for this company that offers refill stations in some stores in Quebec and Ontario.
Lip Balm – Cocoa Butter – Nuphar
A lip balm in the January box, that is a well timed item! I already have some at hand (purse, office, bedroom…) and finished one a few days ago. The cocoa butter and jojoba oil helps to soothe and hydrate your lips and it also smells amazing (makes me want to eat chocolate). Perfect for my damaged lips from the winter cold. Nuphar also sell the same balm colored in red.
Oscillococcinum, Homeopathic Medicine – Boiron
This homeopathic medicine is used to relieve flu-like symptoms such as body aches, headaches, fever and chills. I have never tried homeopathic products before (and I generally do not take any medicine except honey lozenge) but I always have been curious to know if it works as well as “normal” medicine.
Little Life Box Review January 2019 – Final Thoughts
Overall, Little Life Box have put together a nice box filled with a good variety of snacks and health products. I appreciated that most products where from Canada and even some from Quebec. The box has a value of $42 and I found new items I will buy again like those delicious chocolate macaroons and Onekas shower gel that had a such a sublime fragrance.
Now, I wonder what the month of love will bring… I am secretly hoping for a good dark chocolate to share with my loved one.
