Summer Box Details

This season’s box theme is “Alignment”. Unfortunately I didn’t receive the normal insert expanding on that theme so I can’t give further details, but I’m going to guess it’s all about aligning your mind, body and soul in harmony. I’m certain that the included products will help do just that too!

Here’s a look at what’s in the Summer Merkaela box:

Stardust Clay Mask

This mask is the prettiest hue of pink! It’s a dry clay mask that you add a liquid like water to in order to form a paste to apply to skin. It’s a gentle facial detox that’s said to tone skin, improve circulation and balance oil production. The ingredient list includes organic rose kaolin clay bentonite clay, shatavari, turmeric and sandalwood – simple and all natural. I love, love, love clay masks not only for their healing properties, but because they help create a ritual and make me slow down for moments of self-care. This will likely be the product I dig into first!

Luminous Exfoliator

Scrubs are one of my other favorite skin and body products. I love how they feel and how they make skin feel afterward – smooth and refreshed. This scrub seems like it’s intended for the face, but I’m sure could be used on the body as well. It’s said to rejuvenate the skin and uplift the mind with it’s therapeutic aroma. It does smell really, really nice. It’s made with a geranium essential oil blend and smells of an earthy floral and citrus. The other ingredients include organic Mediterranean sea salt, rice oil and vitamin E. This is the perfect product to have on hand in summer to keep dead skin cells turning over after days in the sun.

Patchouli Meditation Elixir

Patchouli is one of my favorite scents so this Meditation Elixir is going to be so wonderful! It’s intended to be used to enhance a meditation practice by providing focus and calm, especially when used with the included affirmation: “I create my reality”. You can spray it as a room spray or directly on your body. Of course this doesn’t have to be used just for spiritual reasons and could just be used to help uplift your morning and start your day on the right foot or to calm your senses before bed too. It’s made with a patchouli essential oil blend, purified water, rosemary extract, Himalayan salt, alcohol and moon energy. I just love the simple and natural ingredients in each of these products. I’ll be using this one a lot!

Patchouli Rose Bar Soap

Yay! More patchouli! This soap bar smells so wonderfully earthy and sweet. I cannot wait to use it! This might sound repetitive, but hand crafted bar soaps are another of my very favorite products so I’m excited to find one in this box – especially one made with patchouli. Patchouli is such a grounding scent and that’s the intention this bar soap so that makes it the perfect soap to start the day with. It’s made with all natural ingredients including organic palm, coconut and olive oils along with organic hemp seed oil and is naturally colored with madder root. This one smells so good I don’t want to use it, but I will definitely do so anyway and will enjoy every moment until it’s gone!

Chamomile Shea Body Butter

I absolutely loved the last body butter I received from this box so I’m sure I’m going to love this one too. Having chamomile as the star ingredient means it’s intended to calm skin, reduce inflammation and promote relaxation. It’s also said to nourish skin and support it’s natural collagen production. It’s a thick and rich body butter that’s made with organic shea butter, hemp oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, babassu oil, lavender & rosemary extract, calendula extract, St John’s wort extract, licorice extract and an organic chamomile essential oil blend. It smells of herbal, woodsy, and soft sweet floral notes – so lovely and calming. This is suggested to use before bed and that sounds perfect to me.

Rose Herbal Tea Potion

Wow, this tea smells divine! Like a warm, tart, yet soft and honeyed floral. And I’m sure it tastes incredible too. It’s made with chamomile, rose petals, orange peel, oat straw, lemon balm, lavender and stevia. These ingredients not only smell and likely taste amazing, but look at how beautiful they are too! Such lovely and vibrant colors and textures. This loose leaf herbal tea is intended to support the immune system, aid with healthy hair and nails, and soothe the central nervous system (aka calm your mind and body). It’s suggested to couple this with a meditation practice which sounds perfect, but I’d think would also be a great night cap to prepare for bed and a good night’s sleep. This tea’s packaging includes an extra bit of inspiration through the quote on the top that ties back to the theme of the season of alignment: “When mind, body and spirit are in harmony, happiness is the natural result.” What a great reminder and thought to consider while sipping. I love herbal tea, it’s the only kind of tea I drink, so I can’t wait to try this one out.

Palo Santo

Palo Santo is a wonderful healing tool to use for a meditative or spiritual practice. It helps clear and clarify the air and your mind. I love the aroma of palo santo and often just inhale the scent from the stick itself to calm my thoughts. It’s kind of a sweet licorice-like woodsy aroma, hard to describe, but it’s just wonderful. It’s awesome that 3 sticks were included in this month’s box and that they are sustainably sourced and ethically wildcrafted.

Merkaela Deluxe Box Review Summer 2020 – Final Thoughts

The last time I received Merkaela it came with a beautiful and helpful insert that had more information about the products along with mindful and spiritual tools to help enhance using the products. Unfortunately I didn’t get one this time around, but it didn’t make this any less of a box, it just would have been helpful to have a few more details. Aside from that, this box is just really incredible. The products are all so beautiful and thoughtfully made and curated. I love how they are made with simple and natural ingredients and that each product has such intention for being incorporated into a self care routine. Each item even has a little mantra on it too that is nice to meditate on while using. I’ve found myself using the products from the last box I reviewed very often so I’m certain these items will get the same amount of love. I’ve got to dig into that mask and treat myself to a cup of that tea while I’m at it right away. Of course the rest will follow use soon after too! I really, really like Merkaela for it’s thoughtfulness, care and consideration for the subscriber and the environment. I would highly recommend trying it out for yourself and it would also make a great gift for someone else too!
