*They kindly sent us this box for review*

I was so excited to review this month’s The Naked Beauty Box as I reviewed a few of their boxes in the past and they were great! I read that their May brand partners are all 100% women-owned small businesses – how cool?!

The Naked Beauty Box arrived in a new, colourful box decorated in beautiful floral packaging with leaves, lovely colours, and the phrases, “Love the skin you’re in” and “Beauty begins with you” written on the sides.

Let’s take a look inside:

I love this beautiful Maya Angelou quote.

The product card was a paper pamphlet with product photos, names, descriptions, and MRSP prices.

SUSAN & ME Root Awake: Co-Condition Growth Treatment ($36)

“Awaken roots with this fortifying hair and scalp treatment. Root Awake was created to enhance any deep treatment or leave-in conditioner. An all-natural blend of hair nourishing oils and amino acids help conditioner bind to hair and strengthen strands. Featuring Susan & Me’s proprietary essential oil hair growth formula; this tingly elixir stimulates blood flow to the scalp and gets those hair follicles dancing. Rosemary and Nettle infused black cumin seed oil is rich in nigellone and silica—key nutrients that have been scientifically proven to reduce hair fall and shedding.”

After doing a little research on this product, I found that others had said it has aided immensely with their migraines. I, unfortunately, got a migraine a few days ago and used this wonder product. It helped immensely – the tingle sensation is so strange yet satisfying! I cannot wait to see what wonders it does for my dry, colour-treated hair!

RECHERCHE ORGANICS Pomegranate Enzyme Peel ($32)

“Our enzyme peel uses pomegranate ferment to “eat away” at the glue that binds old dying skin cells to the fresh new layers of skin underneath. Coupled with other ingredients such as MSM to help rebuild collagen and elastin, papaya seed oil for an extra antioxidant boost and aloe vera for skin soothing and pore tightening, this at-home peel is sure to become a staple in your skincare routine.”

My face stung a bit when I tried this peel out but rest assured, this is normal as it is the enzymes at work doing their job! My skin felt amazing after only one use!

WICKED GOOD Detox Bath Salts ($18)

“A detoxifying bath soak infused with Hawaiian black lava sea salt infused with activated charcoal made from coconut shells— for whenever you’re sore from a workout, need to soothe an overworked body, or deserve an indulgent night of self-care.”

This detox bath soak is loaded with 21 essential minerals, known for their powerful therapeutic properties. These nutrient-rich sea salts are extracted combined with activated charcoal, which draws deeply into your pores to filter out impurities while also helping your skin maintain moisture. I have used these bath salts to make a luxurious body scrub and will use them in a bath soon. I am already such a huge fan of the “Wicked Good” brand.

ECCENTRIC BATH & BODY Cocoa Cappuccino Sugar Scrub ($20)

“Indulge your skin with this Luxurious Whipped Sugar Scrub with exfoliating sugar and shea butter. This product is a cleanser, scrub and moisturizer. Eccentric B&B’s whipped soap cleanses and has a nice lather. The sugar provides a light and gentle exfoliate that won’t harm your skin. It has added sunflower oil and Shea butter to ensure your skin feels smooth and moisturized!”

This sugar scrub smells incredible; good enough to eat! I am all about exfoliation these days and found that this sugar scrub was effective at removing dead skin and it was still gentle. My arms and legs feel so smooth – the perfect exfoliant to use before shaving.

Soon Skincare Exfoliating Mitt ($12)

“Here’s the hygienic way to exfoliate all over, inspired by the Korean ritual of “seshin.” Exfoliate the face, unclog pores and see radiant skin with the Korean Exfoliating Mitt.”

At first, I was skeptical about this exfoliating mitt. But let’s be real, anything k-beauty is usually wonderful and effective. I have only been using this mitt to exfoliate my face for the last few days, but I am seriously seeing results! My skin is smooth, glowing and clear. Love!

The May 2021 The Naked Beauty Box contained five full-size products and the estimated retail value of this box is $118! This is a fantastic value for the low monthly subscription cost. I am familiar with a few of the brands included in this month’s box, but there were still new brands and items for me to discover. I also love that all of the products included are ‘clean’ which is so important to me. I found it funny that three of the products could be used as an exfoliant and I am here for it as your girl is DRY. I do not think I can pick a favourite item this month as they are all useful products to add to my skincare routine. The Naked Beauty Box is the perfect subscription for someone who appreciates clean, cruelty-free, and vegan skincare products!
