NoMakeNoLife Review August 2019
NoMakeNoLife, or ‘nmnl’ for short, is a monthly subscription box filled with Japanese and Korean beauty products! If you’re not familiar with the popular Japanese phrase “nomakenolife,” it translates into ‘makeup is life’. NoMakeNoLife has recently updated their subscription to include specific product categories. Each month will still come with 8-9 beauty items, but 1-2 will be “Instagrammable”, at least 1 will be a beauty tool, and the rest will be makeup or skincare products from Korea/Japan. They kindly sent me the August box to review.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received in the August NoMakeNoLife….
August Theme – Ready, Set, Glow!
Included in every NoMakeNoLife box is a mini pink booklet detailing all of the hand-picked products each month. You’ll get in-depth descriptions, instructions (in English, of course) and upcoming news!
Evenlip Spout Pouch Snail Essential Cream (Korea)
I know what you’re thinking, snail mucin is slimy and gross, right? However, it’s a super popular Korean skincare ingredient that’s effective in healing and nourishing the skin. This cream sinks right into my skin to provide it with ample amounts of moisture. Plus, it comes in a travel-friendly pouch!
Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher (Korea)
The Lovely Cookie Blusher is one of Etude House’s most iconic and popular items! I’ve purchased several of these before, and I love the velvety soft and buildable formula. Subscribers will receive the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in either PK002 Grapefruit Jelly or PK004 Peach Choux Wafer.
Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar (Korea)
Another iconic K-beauty item is the Petite Bunny Gloss Bar from Tony Moly! This adorable gloss comes in stick form with a super cute bunny cap. The glossy formula is perfect for the summer since it’s sheer and very low-maintenance.
Aurora Eye & Lip Topper (Japan)
The Aurora Eye & Lip Topper is a multi-use shimmery gloss that can be used on the lips or as a liquid shadow topper on the eyelids. Subscribers will receive silver, purple, or pink.
Here are swatches of the makeup items, from L to R: Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in PK002 Grapefruit Jelly, Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in 01 Juicy Strawberry, and the Aurora Eye & Lip Topper in Pink.
Deve Foaming Facial Cleanser (Japan)
The Deve Foaming Facial Cleanser contains natural ingredients to give your skin a gentle cleanse. Subscribers will receive one of the following variations: Honey, Rose, Sumi (Charcoal), or Moisture!
Momo Uru-Hada Awapeccino Foaming Tool + Cleansing Powder Set (Japan)
This foaming tool can turn nearly any cleanser into a luscious mound of foam! It comes with only two sachets of enzyme cleansing powder, but you can use this with the Deve Foaming Cleanser this month as well. Just add cleanser, a bit of water, and pump the handle to quickly create a gentle foam!
Choco Mint Face Mask (Japan)
This month came with two different types of masks! The first is the Choco Mint Face Mask, which is a sheet mask that contains cacao to help provide moisture to the skin and mint to tighten and refresh. I’m a huge fan of mint chocolate anything, and this mask smelled delicious on the skin!
Choosy Moist Lip Pack (Japan)
The second mask this month is a lip mask by Choosy. Subscribers will receive either the mint chocolate or banana chocolate variation. Not only does this smell delicious, it also gives the lips a softer and smoother appearance!
NoMakeNoLife Review August 2019 – Final Thoughts
This month’s NoMakeNoLife box was filled with easy breezy beauty products to help give your skin a glow! I loved seeing a mix of makeup, skincare, and beauty tools, but this month was full of hits and misses for me. I was a little disappointed to see multiple one-use masks and travel size products. However, I did enjoy the cutesy makeup packaging and beauty tools. I’d love it for NoMakeNoLife to include more of these types of items in their future boxes, which it seems like they will based on their updated box description. My favorite items this month was the Momo Foaming Tool and the Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar!
