NoMakeNoLife Review October 2018

NoMakeNoLife, or ‘nmnl’ for short, is a monthly beauty box subscription filled with specially curated beauty products straight from Japan! If you’re not familiar with the popular Japanese phrase “nomakenolife”, it translates into ‘makeup is life’ and this box is all about beauty! Each month you’ll receive 5-7 full-sized items including makeup, skincare, beauty tools, nails, body and much more! They kindly sent me this month’s box to review.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received for the month of October….

Included in every box is a little black booklet detailing all of the products selected each month. You’ll get in-depth descriptions, instructions (in English, of course) and upcoming news!

While there is no specific theme, the month of October includes products that will make your Halloween glamorous and fun!

Witch’s Pouch POPO Lipstick

The Witch’s Pouch POPO Lipstick comes in two variations: a burgundy wine or a pinky purple. I received the purple hue and I love it! Not only is the brand name fitting for Halloween, but the color selection is also bold and fun. The lipstick is very creamy and pigmented with just one swipe. It applied easily and felt comfortable on too! I think it’s perfect for all the Halloween festivities.

NOYL Intensive Beauty Essence

The NOYL Intensive Beauty Essence contains hyaluronic acid which helps replenish and retain moisture on the skin. It’s recommend that this essence is used BEFORE other essences and serums to help amplify the moisture effects. The formula of the essence is clear and very thin. It has such a lightweight texture that turns nearly water-like when applied. I do pair it with other essences in my beauty routine, but it’s hard for me to tell if it really does anything for me.

Pure Smile Kyonshi Zombie Face Mask

I’m not really a fan when subscription boxes include a single-use sheet mask as a “full size” item, but this one is really fun! It has a spooky kyonshi zombie print on the mask. Plus, it glows in the dark! The sheet mask was soaked in tons of essence which left my skin feeling very plump and evenly toned.

Pokemon Nail Art

The Pokemon Nail Art is another variant item in the box with Pokemon Body Art being the other item you may receive. The nail stickers feature colorful pokeballs and Mimikyu, a ghost Pokemon that resembles Pikachu! These nail stickers are so cute and ideal for Halloween.

Heart Puff Set

I LOVE receiving beauty tools in subscription boxes since it doesn’t happen as often as I would like it to. NoMakeNoLife included an entire jar of heart shaped puffs! These makeup sponges can be broken up in halves to make it easier to apply makeup whether you’re blending in your cream foundation or using them to dab on powder.

NoMakeNoLife Review October 2018 – Final Thoughts

Wow! I think NoMakeNoLife really hit it out of the park for October. The wide variety of items was perfectly spread out and I really appreciate the diversity of products. There was a makeup item, skincare, beauty tools, and nail products. Plus, NoMakeNoLife stuck closely to the Halloween theme, even though the monthly boxes don’t usually follow strict themes. I do wish subscription boxes would stop counting a single-use sheet mask as a “full sized” item, but overall I’m very impressed with this month. My favorites are the Witch’s Pouch Lipstick which came in a beautiful purple hue and the Heart Puff Sponge Set!
