January Box Details

“Glimmer Goddess hand-batches the most amazing clean, green formulations with a focus on plant-based actives and we knew we’d struck gold when they agreed to collaborate with us on this month’s box! It was an absolute pleasure speaking with founder Shannon who gave us more wonderful insights into her brand, journey as well as the various challenges that come with running a beauty company. You can read more on the Nourish Beauty Box Blog.”

It’s so fun to start the fresh new year by being introduced to a fresh new (to me) brand in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box! Along with this item are a few other great surprises including a moisturizer for dry skin, the perfect wintery lipgloss and a staple makeup tool. I’m looking forward to a refresh with all these new items!

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box ($109.95 Total Value):

Seraphine Botanicals Buff + Blend Brush ($22)

“A cruelty-free and vegan brush designed with synthetic, densely packed taklon bristles & a 100% recyclable wooden handle.”

I was really in need of a new makeup brush like this one so this is a great item for me to receive. This is a buff and blend brush that I suppose is intended for foundation application but I’ll likely use it for the little bit of powder I apply. It’s a very pretty brush with the rose gold accent and feels like really good quality. The brush itself is densely packed and is really soft and fluffy. I like that a makeup tool was included this month as it changes things up a bit.

Nourish Naturals Safflower Shimmer in “Mandala” ($16)

“An illuminating gloss infused with crystalline, light-reflecting particles in a healthy, vegan base. Apply on its own for a sensual, twinkling tint to lips or over your favorite lipstick to add an other-wordly dimension to your look.”

I’ve got quite a collection of these lipglosses now as I’ve received one in each box for the last handful of months. They always send such pretty and unique colors and this one is no exception. It’s a shimmery lipgloss that’s the perfect neutral berry color. I like the texture of these lippies, my only criticism is the scent. It’s kind of a fruity/bubblegum scent and it’s not my favorite. If not for the scent, these are really nice glosses though.

Glimmer Goddess Organic Vitamin C Serum 20% ($29.95)

“Neutralizes free radicals and helps to stimulate collagen production. This powerful concoction ensures vibrant, healthier-looking skin. Simply apply 4-5 drops each morning or night after cleansing, followed by your moisturizer & sunscreen”

This serum is packed with antioxidants to help revive and regenerate skin and getting it glowing. It’s lightweight and absorbs well. It has kind of nutty citrus scent to it which is pleasant and very light. This is a great serum for getting skin healthy and glowing and would be great under a moisturizer for maximizing the benefits, especially the one included in this month’s box! My skin feels so lackluster right now so I’m looking forward to testing this one out.

Earth Harbor Mermaid Milk ($42)

“Made with spirulina, matcha and seaweed extracts This is a potent yet lightweight moisturizer, rich in antioxidants, vitamin c, protein and almost every other nutrient that our skin needs. After cleansing and toning massage a small amount into skin in upward, circular motions.”

I have been eyeing this brand for some time now, not necessarily this exact product, but it sounds like a great one so it’s a good way to start out with their product line. This is a nutrient rich moisturizer that helps to hydrate, plump and balance skin. I like that it’s lightweight and absorbs into skin easily, leaving no greasy feeling at all. Many of the ingredients are organic and/or if not organic, at least non-gmo. It has a light scent to it that smells really nice, it’s a bit fruity/juicy I’d say – bright and sunny. Also, that color is so pretty! It’s really light but has a hint of a cool green tint. I’m guessing that comes from the matcha, spirulina and blue tansy ingredients. I love the ocean/mermaid-y vibe of this brand too – so good!

Nourish Beauty Box Review January 2020 – Final Thoughts

This month’s Nourish Beauty Box was such a good one! They switched it up a bit and included two brands that are different from the norm and it was a great surprise. Especially since one of the brands was one that I’d been eyeing for awhile now. I love it when a box includes brands that I’ve been wanting to test out because it makes the value of the box even better since you can try the items out at this discounted cost. Obviously you don’t get to choose which item from the line to try but trying any product from a brand can give you a sense of the full line, like how they create the products, how they are packaged, etc. so it’s still really awesome. I hope they continue to keep popping more new brands in upcoming boxes. Looking forward to see what comes next month!
