Novel Editions Review November 2016

Over the last couple months I’ve come to realize how much I love book subscription boxes. Out of all the subscription box categories out there,  book boxes would definitely be one of my favourites. It is for that reason I was extremely excited about today’s review. There’s a new book subscription box on the market, and it just happens to be Canadian. Today we are looking at Novel Editions.

Novel Editions Subscription Details

When you sign-up for a Novel Editions subscription you have two options to choose from – monthly subscription, or 3-month subscription. Other than that things are pretty straightforward.

It appears as though we will have a theme each month, which I love. This month’s theme is “All the Stars”. Right away I am impressed with the packaging and the product card. Everything matches and it all looks very pretty. This makes me happy.

All The Ugly and Wonderful Things – Bryn Greenwood

A beautiful and provocative love story between two unlikely people and the hard-won relationship that elevates them above the Midwestern meth lab backdrop of their lives.

As the daughter of a drug dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. It’s safer to keep her mouth shut and stay out of sight. Struggling to raise her little brother, Donal, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible adult around. Obsessed with the constellations, she finds peace in the starry night sky above the fields behind her house, until one night her star gazing causes an accident. After witnessing his motorcycle wreck, she forms an unusual friendship with one of her father’s thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold.

By the time Wavy is a teenager, her relationship with Kellen is the only tender thing in a brutal world of addicts and debauchery. When tragedy rips Wavy’s family apart, a well-meaning aunt steps in, and what is beautiful to Wavy looks ugly under the scrutiny of the outside world. A powerful novel you won’t soon forget, Bryn Greenwood’s All the Ugly and Wonderful Things challenges all we know and believe about love.

Constellation Notebook – Nikki Strange

I’m a sucker for notebooks. I have about a million of them, but I’m always happy to receive more. This one is gorgeous. It will be going straight to the top of my notebook pile.

Cassiopeia Ear Crawler – Spring Fine Art

Eeek! This is amazing! I’ve been wanting an ear crawler but haven’t had the time to look for one. It took me a couple tries to figure out how to wear it properly, but once I got it on I fell in love. It is so fun!

Constellation Nail Decals – Deco Pop Shop

I’m not really a fan of nail art, but these are so cute that I just might have to give them a try. The fact that they are so tiny is working in their favour. I could apply just one of the little gold stars and it wouldn’t be too much. Just a hint of cuteness.

Novel Editions Review November 2016 – Final Thoughts

I had a feeling I was going to like this new subscription box and I do! I would still like to see a couple more boxes since it is brand spankin’ new, but so far I am loving Novel Editions. I think they did a great job with their packing, their website is easy to navigate, they chose a great book for this first box (I’m kind of excited to start reading it) and the extra items are just too cute for words. This is definitely one to keep an eye on. The have the makings to be one of the top subscription boxes in Canada.

XOXO
