Let’s take a closer look at everything in the February 2021 Once Upon a Book Club!

Shiver by Allie Reynolds

“When Milla accepts an off-season invitation to Le Rocher, one of France’s most exclusive ski resorts, she’s expecting an intimate weekend of catching up with four old friends. It might have been a decade since she saw them last, but she’s never forgotten the bond they forged on this very mountain during a winter spent fiercely training for an elite snowboarding competition.”

“Yet the moment Milla and the others arrive for the reunion, they can tell something is wrong. The resort is deserted. The cable cars that delivered them to the mountaintop have stopped working. Their cell phones missing. And inside their ski lodge, an icebreaker game awaits, designed to draw out their secrets. A game meant to remind them of Saskia, the enigmatic sixth member of their group, who vanished the morning of the competition years before and has long been presumed dead.”

“Stranded in the lodge, with a looming snowstorm making escape even more impossible, Milla realizes there’s no one on the mountain she can trust. Because someone will stop at nothing to find out the truth about Saskia. And if Milla’s not careful, she could be the next to disappear…”

Book Club Kit and Quote Print

Each box contains a booklet containing an interview with the author, read-a-long-dates with other book clubbers, and discussion questions for the book club’s Facebook group. There is also a print with a quote from the book. This month’s print reads “Do your best that’s all you can do.”

This month’s Once Upon a Book Club contains 4 individually-wrapped gifts. Readers are supposed to open the gift when they reach the particular page indicated on the gift wrap. This creates an interactive experience that brings the book to life, and allows you to ‘become’ the characters.

Once Upon a Book Club Review February 2021 – Final Thoughts

I loved everything in the February Once Upon a Book Club. Mysteries are my favorite genre, and this story kept me on the edge from beginning to end. There is nothing like spending a weekend with a good mystery book. The gifts are so fitting to the story with everything wrapped in snow-themed bags and boxes. The thermos bottle is going to be really useful with the insulation keeping my drinks warm. The lid has a temperature display showing the temperature of the contents that is so cool! The vanilla fragrance smells amazing, and the goggles and lift pass lanyard has actual writings from the book as a design which is so cool. Highly recommend Once Upon a Book Club for the book lovers out there! Opening the gifts while reading along really makes for an immersive experience.
