Postmark’d Studio August “Dog Days of Summer” PostBox Edition 4.2

“The “dog days of summer” term traditionally refers to a period of particularly hot and humid weather during July and August. While you may not be a dog owner we all know those “dog lovers” and this month’s collection of cards is sure to bring a smile or two. Really, who can ruff-use a cute dog card? So beat the heat with a cold glass of something, find a shady spot or even a little air conditioning and send some snail mail! it will be paw-some for all!’

Friends, I used to be a “cat lover” but since rescuing my dog Milo, I actually love dogs so much. I am so excited to dig into this dog-themed PostBox!

Get Well

“It seems like whenever I want to send a “get well” card I never seem to have one at the ready. This adorable card is a perfect card to keep in your stash. Good Juju Ink, is the collaboration of talents of three friends. These three quirky friends realized that – with our powers combined – they could build a greeting card company focused on encouraging modern people to slow down, write a letter, and stay present. At the heart of Good Juju Ink is the notion of spreading good juju, good spirit, good energy AKA love. They spread good juju by sending thoughtful cards to those they already know and care about, but they also think it’s important to spread good juju to those they do not know, to those in their greater community, to the world at large. If you haven’t, check out their latest campaign: 18 Million Thanks.”

This pup looks exactly like my dog from the side, Milo. He is a mix of labrador retriever and some type of northern dog breed, probably husky. I think this card will be awesome to gift to someone who is either not feeling good themselves or for someone whose pet is not doing well.

Thanks a Bunch

“Gratitude is an attitude. A perfect card for a perfect thank-you message. Smudge Ink is a small band of illustrators, printers, and wordsmiths brought together by an inexplicable devotion to snail mail. Led by owner April May, they create lighthearted, punchy letterpress greeting cards with a knack for making you grin. All of their products are created in house in their studio in Action, MA. They love that what they do helps others connect, celebrate, and have fun!”

This fun little card is so sweet. I love the red and green accents with the monotone pup. Anyone would feel special receiving this card.

I Miss You

“An idea card for the socially distant times to send to a loved one that you have not seen in what seems like forever. Fickle Hill studio, located in Arcadia, California is owned and operated by Sylvia Chevy air and her illustrator husband, Peter hoey. They conceived, draw, design, print and score each card in print. Their dogs tried to be helpful too, but really they’d rather be going out for a hike.”

Hahaha. This is perfect. If you miss someone with a dog, send them this card. They will seriously appreciate the sentiment as this is exactly how most dogs can be. I am just headed back to work after almost six months off due to quarantine, and I bet my dog will anxiously make a mess in my house too when he “misses” me. also, look at that tail-wag!

Happy Birthday

“Make someone’s birthday a little more fancy with the sweet honeycomb pop-up card! Founded by Lindsay Henry, Inklings Paperie is based in Plymouth, Michigan. They believe in the power of the handwritten note and are committed to creating products that Inspire kindness and bring joy to life’s many little celebrations!”

Awe, who doesn’t love a pop-up card?! One of my best friends has a black poodle mix and it’s her birthday next month – this will be the perfect card to bring a smile to her face!

“Ollie is a real dog that is super friendly, and we were appreciative that his owner gave us permission to use his image on this postcard. The proceeds from this adorable postcard have been donated to the organization, Color of Change. This postcard is a collaboration with NANU Studio. NANU Studio is located in New Jersey, it’s a small illustration studio owned and operated by Krishna Chavda, an Indian American woman, who believes in creating good drawings and products while doing good for the planet and its inhabitants. NANU Studio creates playful and vibrant illustrations for high-quality goods, product packaging, publishing, and surface design.”

This postcard is awesome! I love the powerful message and will be framing it for display in my house or classroom.

Artsy Doodad

“Paw button wax seal and stick of wax.”

This is a fun way to jazz up your snail mail! A nice final touch to add to your “dog days of summer” cards.

Vintage Postage

“Dog inspired vintage postage to mail (4) letters.”

These are fun! Subscribers always receive enough postage to mail the cards in their monthly postbox. What a neat feature!
