Scentbird is a luxury fragrance subscription service that sends you a 30-day supply of a designer fragrance of your choice for $14.95/month. On your first month you get a sleek perfume case to hold the perfume, you then switch it out each month with your new perfume. They kindly sent us this box for review.
I have been a Scentbird fan for quite some time. The idea behind this subscription box appeals to my low-maintenance lifestyle. On one hand I like to be feminine, and dress up, and put on pretty perfume, but on the other hand I hate to shop and don’t like spending hours getting ready. Scentbird is the perfect solution because it does the shopping for me, and allows me to test out new fragrances each month, and keep them in easy-to-access convenient locations thanks to the gorgeous little cases. I should also mention that I am clueless when it comes to fragrance. I have a few that I love, but when it comes to finding new scents I don’t even know where to start.
Good To know
Most of you are probably familiar with Scentbird by now, but for those of you who aren’t here are a few “good to know” details:
- when you sign up for a subscription you get to fill out a scent profile which will in turn help them make recommendations specific to your preferences
- you will receive a perfume case with your first month, you will not receive one every month, but you can purchase additional cases on their website
- you can pre-select scents to receive each month by adding them to your fragrance queue
Here’s a look at the fragrance I received this month…..
Soleil de Capri – Montale
An invigorating harmony of Citrus fruits from Italy, Grapefruit and Kumqat built around a heart of White Flowers on a base of White Musk and Mediterranean Spices.
This particular scent is a little too flowery for me, but pretty nonetheless. I can also really smell the musk, which is a scent I need to be in the mood for. Sometimes I absolutely love it and sometimes I find it a little strong. After reading the reviews for this scent I understand why they chose it for me this month, subscribers seem to love it. The only negative review it gets is that to some it is a bit on the masculine scent. I think that comes from the spices and the musk.
Sky Blue Fragrance Case
This month they were also nice enough to send me a new blue fragrance case. Please note that this is not part of the regular subscription, but rather something you can purchase separately in their store. I’ve had my eye on the coloured cases for quite some time. I HIGHLY recommend browsing their store. They have cases in every color of the rainbow……I want them all!!
Scentbird Review April 2017 – Final Thoughts
Even though this month’s selection wasn’t my favourite, I still love this subscription. Keep in mind that my April fragrance was a surprise, so it’s a risk I take by not choosing my own scents. If I really wanted to I could choose my fragrance each month and be in control of what I receive, but part of me really likes to be surprised so I actually kind of like it when they choose the fragrance for me. Scentbird is a great way to avoid the perfume counter, and a great way to test out new scents. I have always loved this subscription and always will.
