Surprise My Pet Review February 2016 – Pet Subscription Box

I really enjoyed my January Surprise My Pet box. They had a really great product mix last month, a product mix that included some items you don’t typically see in pet subscription boxes. I say it over and over again, but I really love to see at least one item that isn’t a treat or toy…..and that’s exactly what I got in my January Surprise My Pet Box.

If you aren’t familiar with Surprise My Pet it is a pet loving family that sends monthly boxes that are an amazingly cute surprise for your pup(s). Surprise My Pet has one of the best shipping boxes out there….but I’ve said that before. And we received a fun little product card this month that said “Be My Valentine” on the front…very appropriate for a February Box. However, I don’t really think the items in the box follow a Valentine’s theme…but that’s ok…. you can’t win ’em all.

RY’S Ruffery Treats ($6.99) – These are all-natural and vegetarian!! So of course the vegan is going to love them. Is it weird that I refer to myself in third person? Anyways, you all know I love healthy puppy treats, these are exactly what I like to see in my pet boxes.

Jack for Joy ($10) – I think I received one of these in another box, it looks very familiar, but I don’t mind because I have at least 3 puppy friends who would love this….it definitely won’t go to waste. It is shatterproof and chip proof, and will be great for “power chewers”.

Handy Solutions Lint Roller ($2.49) – Ummmm…..this is a GREAT idea!! I’m surprised this is the first time I’m receiving one of these in a pet box. Now that I’ve seen it, I’m tempted to say it should be a staple item in all pet boxes…..pet hair on clothes is not a good thing for someone with OCD…..just sayin’.

Play Around Hound Mini Tennis Balls ($4.99) – This is a fun idea….all dogs need at least one tennis ball in their toy box…..four is even better.

Flavorit Peanut Butter Bone ($7.99) – I’m still trying to figure this one out….but it looks super fun. I think you spread your pups favourite treat on it (cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, etc) and let them go to town. What I don’t really understand is if it is already infused with peanut butter flavour or not, and does that mean you are supposed to only use peanut butter on it….is it acceptable to mix flavours?

Puffsters Chips ($7.99) – Chips for dogs! Great idea! They only have 10 calories per treat which makes them a perfect little snack for my pudgy puppy friends.

Thoughts: I like that Surprise My Pet steps out of the box, no pun intended, and includes items you don’t typically see in other pet subscription boxes. The lint roller is a no-brainer, but such a great idea at the same time….as are the tennis balls. I would have loved to see a Valentine’s theme when it came to the products, but other than that I don’t have anything bad to say about SMP. I also have to say that the price is extremely reasonable, especially if you sign up for a 1-year subscription. That works out to only $19 per month, and I think that would make them one of the least expensive pet subscription boxes on the market….for US customers that is….darn exchange rate….

XOXO
