Hello from our new house! We’ve got most of the basics unpacked and put away so I’m taking a break, hoping to finish this post before the kids call me outside to watch them jump on the trampoline. The people who lived here before left it for us so that was a bonus. 😀 Unfortunately they also left a bathtub that leaked through the kitchen ceiling the first time we used it. 😩😩 Plus a few other surprises. But that’s how it goes. I still think we did the right thing in moving and the extra space is such a luxury. Speaking of luxury, Sweet Reads Box recently shipped its largest and most luxurious box yet. The limited edition Summer Luxe Box was curated to provide “a seasonal reset and summertime relaxation.” Here’s a look.*
*Sweet Reads Box kindly sent us this box for review.
Like the monthly and other limited edition boxes, this one included a card with a guide to the contents. You’ll see product descriptions in italics below.

Heal Your Living by Youheum Son – “A beautiful book inside and out by the founder of the YouTube lifestyle channel, Heal Your Living. Divided into four sections each targeting a different wellness practice, this book will guide you through daily reflections, journaling prompts, planners, checklists and affirmations. Whether you are looking for a transformational experience, or an interesting read, Heal Your Living offers an opportunity to create a more positive mental attitude and bring balance into your life.”
True Gratitude (Compendium) – “A beautiful guided journal for your daily thoughts and inspirations. With activities and journaling space this will be your new favourite way to express yourself.”
While the monthly and most limited edition boxes include a novel, the Summer Luxe Box promised a lifestyle/wellness/home decor book. I was a bit underwhelmed when I first saw Heal Your Living because I’d hoped for a large hardcover coffee table book about home decor or entertaining but it’s actually really lovely. Informative, easy to read, beautiful to look at and totally inspiring. I feel like it arrived at the perfect time too since moving is a great opportunity be more intentional about the kind of space we want to create. It’s divided into four chapters — mindfulness, sustainability, minimalism and wellness — all with suggestions, activities and questions to think about for putting them into practice. And the journal is the perfect companion! Sweet Reads picks the best books! (And now I have a new YouTube channel to discover too.)
Hydrate glass water bottle by Creative Brands — “A beautiful water bottle that is functional, sustainable and earth-friendly. A reminder to hydrate all summer long.”
Turkish towel by Pokoloko — “A beautiful fair trade towel made from 100% Turkish Cotton. Woven in Turkey, this towel is versatile use indoors and out. The unique towel repels sand and grass and wraps easily around your body after a swim or sauna. Also great for reading under when the air conditioning gets too chilly.” 🇨🇦
Refresh bath soak by Epic Blend — “The scents of summertime combined in a luxurious bath soak will help you relax and find balance after a stressful day.” 🇨🇦
Aloe-infused socks by Earth Luxe — “Absolutely beautiful socks to keep your skin soft all summer long.”
Pokoloko makes uber luxurious towels so I was delighted to see this one! The waffle ones are my favourite for the bath but their Turkish ones are a close second and so versatile. This is my second one and I was so glad to have a set last week when my mom was here. We used them as shawls in the evenings watching the kids outside on the trampoline and they were the perfect size and weight.
I’ve had a couple of luxurious soaks with the Refresh bath salts in our working tub (we have two full bathrooms in our new house; in our old house we all shared one tiny one). The citrus and peppermint make really lovely combination. “Refresh” is the perfect name for it!
And the socks! It’s so nice to wake up with soft feet after sleeping in this uber cozy pair. Slather your tootsies with a good cream and pull on the socks to lock in the moisture overnight.
The water bottle is the only miss for me, but only because we have so many already. This is a great size and I love the glass (much more luxurious and sustainable than plastic) but I’ll probably gift it. (Well we’ll see.)
Energize roll-on essential oil by Earth Luxe — “Stimulate your senses with this purse-sized roll-on essential oil. Contains a citrusy blend of lemon, orange, petit grain and cedarwood essential oils.”
The co. that made the socks also sells this uplifting roll-on. The scent is perfect for summer — fresh and bright — and I love the format. I feel like it’s easier to control how much or how little you want to put on than a spray or a solid and it doesn’t leak.
Pop the Champagne popcorn by Eatable — “This champagne-infused popcorn will become your new go-to snack.” 🇨🇦
Hammock Time drink mix by Fuse & Sip — “Create your own cocktail or mocktail with this premium drink mix. Featuring the flavours of pineapples, oranges, lemons, coconut, turmeric root and cane sugar all you need is a 12 oz jar, your favourite liquor or water and you get dreamy summer vibes.” 🇨🇦
I’ve seen this popcorn in a few boxes and always wanted to try it. I prefer a salty or caramel snack to this one, which is sweet and white-chocolate flavoured more than anything else. If you like Pop Rocks you’ll love it! The champagne infusion makes it pop and fizz, like a party in your mouth.
I used the drink mix to flavour a mason jar of vodka and although I only had a few sips in a cocktail (the infused vodka mixed with Diet 7up), it’s almost disappeared. My mom thought it was tasty and my fella even more so.
I love a great lifestyle box and for double the price of its regular limited editions, I expected a lot from Sweet Reads Box first Luxe Box. Almost any “me time” in the midst of moving feels like a luxury but the contents in this one take it to another level. The towel, the bath salts, the book and the journal are my favourite treats and together they’ve got to be close to the price of the box alone. I’d love to see a more luxe feel to the packaging, even if it would increase the price by a couple of bucks. The usual packaging and product card didn’t give me the wow factor I was looking for. Of course it’s what’s inside that counts the most, but for an overall experience the first impression is also important. Even a larger box would be exciting! Just a few tweaks to make it feel more luxe than the usual (and also fabulous) monthly and limited editions.
The Summer Luxe Box is sold out, but the limited edition Fall Luxe Box is on sale while quantities last and ships late September. It’s $199.99 + $7.50 flat rate shipping across Canada.
