The Literary Book Club is a quarterly book subscription box. Every quarter, they will send you a gorgeous collectible edition of a classic book, plus a selection of thoughtful gifts to make your experience magical. They kindly sent us this box to review.

The Literary Book Club subscription costs $74.99 each quarter, plus $11.95 shipping to the US. International subscriptions are available via their Etsy store.

Each themed box contains a gorgeous collectible edition book, plus a selection of thoughtfully curated gifts to enhance your experience. Each gift will arrive wrapped and numbered with page numbers to open as you read. You can expect to receive a variety of useful lifestyle gifts, self care luxury products, items bibliophiles will adore, and other lovely surprises.

Joining the Literary Book Club Box will also get you exclusive access to their private book club Facebook group for subscribers, where you can discuss your experience of the classics with other literary fans. Inside the group, you’ll find great conversation, and bonuses like giveaways only for subscribers.

First off, I am loving how this box is giving off all the sunshine and tropical island vibes – perfect for a summer box! When it comes to presentation, Literary Book Club is second to none. You can see all the care the team put into selecting the gift wraps and wrapping the gifts. The introduction card even comes in an envelope sealed with a wax stamp!

Treasure Island, Chiltern Edition

“Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson was first a map that Stevenson drew for the amusement of his stepson. The map proved so interesting that he created a story to go along with it, reading instalments of the story to his family as he finished them. The story follows Jim Hawkins who sets sail, searching for buried treasure and adventure. He quickly finds himself caught up in a deadly mutiny where he must outwit the cunning pirate Long Jone Silver in order to stay alive.”

Each box will contain a swag bag with a bookmark, sticker, and bookplate all designed according to the theme of the box. I am really loving the quote on this month’s bookmark, there are days I can sure relate to this sentiment haha.

Each box always includes a beverage or snack item for you to enjoy while reading. Nothing like a tropical mai tai to kick start a tropical island adventure!

Page 75: Gorgeous Green Apple Tamalitoz Candy

These are fruit-flavoured Mexican hard candies with a chili, lime, and sea salt center. I love these! Sweet, tangy, and with a touch of spice, I am obsessed with them.

Page 186: Blue Moon Soap with Amber

Such an interesting soap! There is an amber inside the soap, and I really like the blue and white design to evoke the moon rising against a blue sky.

Page 193: Kidnapped Book Mint Edition

Another Robert Louis Stevenson classic!

Final Thoughts

Another winner from the folks at The Literary Book Club! Everything is this box comes together to transport us to a tropical island beach adventure. I have not read a Robert Louis Stevenson book since high school, and am so happy here for the chance here to reread them. I also love that these editions chosen for the box are gorgeous enough for display. My favourite items this box are the candies and the large tote. Highly recommend this subscription for any book lover looking to revisit the classics.
