The Book
Inside the card, the book for the month is revealed. This month’s book is “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” by Agatha Christie. This is the first of her novels to feature her famous detective character Hercule Poirot – who appears in dozens of her other books later on. The story features many of the elements that have become icons of the golden age of detective fiction. It’s set in a large, isolated country manor with half a dozen subjects, most of whom are hiding facts about themselves! I haven’t read this one before, but I’ve already started and I’m loving it.
The book itself is printed in a custom, collectible print that is absolutely stunning. All of the books that The Literary Book Club prints are beautiful and can double as gorgeous home decor after you’re done reading them. Take a peek at their Instagram account for images of breathtaking bookshelves featuring all their collectible, custom-printed books. It gives serious bookshelf envy!
Each box also includes a little swag bag that goes along with the book. It includes a bookmark, bookplate, and sticker.
The Gifts
Inside The Literary Book Club box are all of the gifts that are meticulously wrapped and numbered with page numbers so it prolongs your experience. I think this is so creative and engaging and I wish I had the willpower to resist opening them all at once! Would you be able to wait? Let me know in the comments!
While You Read
Every box includes a special treat to enjoy while you read. This month they included popcorn from Pop Daddy Popcorn. It was so tasty and didn’t last long once I finished taking photos for this review!
Page 47
Once you get to page 47 you’re invited to open the next gift. This one is Rocky Mountain Hot Cocoa Mix! It serves two so if you’re feeling generous you could share, or enjoy two cups to yourself. You deserve it, obviously.

At page 58, it’s time to open the next beautiful gift wrapped in black paper which is Meyer Lemon Bath Salt Soak. Lemon is a personal fave so I was very excited about this one! What a nice way to treat yourself.

The next gift is heavy and turns out to be “The League of Lady Poisoners” hardcover book. A feast for the senses, this sumptuously illustrated book will introduce you to some of the most infamous women throughout world history, united by their shared taste for poison. Welcome to the League of Lady Poisoners.
Doesn’t that just sound so interesting? It does to me and I was very impressed by how seamlessly the cover of this book fit into the gorgeous green theme of our featured book. It just looked like it belonged.
The Last Page
Once the last page has been read, we have our final gift and that is a custom essential oil roller. It’s label says, “It is in the brain, the little grey cells on which one must rely,” which is a quote from our new friend Hercule Poirot. It’s a lovely blend of Rosemary, Lemon, Bergamot, and Peppermint. I’m sure there’s an even deeper connection to the book here, but I haven’t finished it yet so I can’t be sure.
Art Print
The Literary Book Club always includes an 8×10 art print in each box as well. This season, we received a quote that says, “Instinct is a marvelous thing. It can neither be explained nor ignored.” -Agatha Christie.
