March Theme – Italy
This month we are traveling to Italy and I couldn’t be more excited. The BF is Italian, so this box immediately grabbed my attention. I feel like this is the perfect box for my very first TopMunch experience.
Each box comes with an amazing product card. I didn’t take photos this time around, but I promise to with my next box (review to be posted shortly). The product card is extremely detailed. It offers things such as – culture info, music suggestions, language guide, product info, travel tips and more. I actually spent a lot of time looking through the booklet and that doesn’t happen too often.
Here’s a look at the items I received in my first TopMunch Box:
Sfornatini Rosmarino Rosemary & Olive Oil Breadsticks
These are naturally leavened breadsticks made with olive oil & seasoned with rosemary. Sfornatini breadsticks are frequently topped with garlic sauces and parmesan cheese when served as appetizers; and are topped with cinnamon sugar and icing when served as a dessert item. Main Ingredients: Wheat flour, palm oil, yeast, salt, malted wheat flour, rosemary, extra virgin olive oil. May contain traces of sesame seeds.
Love, love, love breadsticks! I also love the rosemary/olive oil combo. The product card says to enjoy with hot and cold dishes, thin slices of prosciutto (the BF’s favourite) or just a glass of wine……wine it is.
Fiore di Puglia Taralli Classici Classic Crackers
Taralli are circular shaped crackers that are common all over the southern parts of Italy. Similar to bagels, they are briefly boiled before being baked, which gives them a very interesting texture. Baked Taralli can then be kept in an airtight container for several months. Main Ingredients: Soft wheat flour, white wine, olive pomace oil, extra virgin olive oil, black pepper, salt.
I feel as though we have a bit of a cracker theme going on here, but I don’t mind too much. I rarely buy crackers or chips so it’s nice to receive items like this.
Mulino Bianco Galletti Biscuits
Mulino Bianco Galletti Cookies are made with an eggless pastry and topped with sugar crystals that bring out their sweet flavor and delicate texture. Founded in Parma, Italy in 1877, these treats are famous for their natural ingredients and rich taste – making them delectable on their own or with coffee. Main Ingredients: Wheat Flour, Palm Oil, Sugar, Milk, Skim Milk Powder, Glucose Syrup, Wheat Starch. Contains Wheat and Milk Ingredients, Traces of Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Soy, Egg and Coconut.
Yup, definitely a crunchy theme to the snacks in this month’s box. The product card says that these ones are great with a cup of coffee. I LOVE indulging in quality snacks while having a cup of coffee. There’s just something so comforting and rewarding about it. It’s a little treat to myself when I have a ton of reviews to get through.
Asturi Amaretti Cookies
A little bite of Italy! Asturi Amaretti cookies, the sophisticated Italian cookie snack. Enjoy these all natural, baked and crunchy cookies with your morning coffee.
These follow an 18th century recipe first baked in Venice. They are the original Italian macaroon. The product card says to pair these ones with espresso, dessert or wine. Apparently you can also crumble them over gelato, ice creams and desserts.
Asturi Focacci Bites
Asturi believes that the “Mediterranean Diet” is a naturally healthy way of life, and that snacks help us enjoy life and good friends. so they’ve decided to bring to you a great ALL NATURAL Mediterranean Savory Snack. These great-tasting snacks are one of the favorites. They are BAKED with 100% NATURAL ingredients and contain NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, NO ARTIFICIAL COLORINGS, and NO TRANS FATS.
These sound really good and are to be eaten alone or paired with your favourite hors d’oeuvres, dips, or salsas.
TopMunch Review March 2017 – Final Thoughts
I am pleased with my very first TopMunch experience. I feel like they may have overdone it with the crunchy snacks, I would have liked to see a little more variety, but it was a nice box nonetheless. Here’s what I love about this box: great packaging, very informative product card, theme appropriate snacks, great customer service, and just a professional experience all around. I wouldn’t consider this a value box, it’s definitely more of an experience subscription box. As I mentioned above, this was the perfect first box for me to review as the Italian theme got me excited. So far I am really liking the idea of this subscription. I can’t wait to get my hands on the April box – review coming soon.
