The April 2019 Spring Equinox Box theme is Wash Away Your Worries. This is the second of the three Spring Equinox boxes.
The back of the product card lists all the items in the box. The products tie in with different fandoms, TV shows, and books. For example, one of the items is inspired by the movie Aquaman, another Pirates of the Caribbean, etc….
The product card also has unboxing challenges. If you want to play along and share your photos on Instagram you could possibly win a prize.
Unplugged Book Box always includes a Spotify playlist.
On the back of the playlist card there’s a recipe for Snickerdoodles inspired by To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Here’s a magnet with a quote from Steve Jobs and…..
Dante & Aristotle Bookmark
Dante & Aristotle from Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz had plenty to worry about, but they escaped their worries with one another. This bookmark is an Unplugged Book Box exclusive.
Six of Crows Compact
Kaz Brekker is hard to crack. Whether he’s wearing his scheming face or on an impossible heist, he is the definition of calm. He never shows his worries. This mirror is an Unplugged Book Box exclusive.
Here we have a Six of Crows compact. Six of Crows is a fantasy novel written by Leigh Bardugo. Six of Crows takes place in the Amsterdam-inspired city of Ketterdam. The series takes place in the same world as the Grisha books but is set in a different location and time frame.
The saying “It was a smile he might die to earn again” is from one of the books in the series.
Pirates of the Caribbean Bag
The greatest captain of all time – Captain Jack Sparrow sets a good example for taking things in stride. Use this bag to carry your bookish treasures. It is an Unplugged Book Box exclusive.
I love reusable bags so I was happy to see this in the box. The saying “not all treasure is silver & gold” is said to be one of the 15 most important quotes from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Aquaman Lotion
Being a merperson isn’t always stress-free. Use this lotion when you emerge from the sea! This lotion was created by Fiction Bath Co. exclusively for Unplugged Book Box.
Lotion is another item I am always happy to receive. Especially as we head in to the Summer months.
The Sea Witch Shower Gel
In The Sea Witch by Sarah Henning, Anna needed help to get her legs and to stay in Havnestad. Good thing she trusted her worries with friend Evie! This was created by the Spa Librarian for Unplugged Book Box.
I am loving all these exclusive products. I had no idea Unplugged Book Box worked so closely with their brands each month. This just adds an additional element to the subscription.
Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell
When the Last Days came, the planet of Laterre promised hope. A new life for a wealthy French family and their descendants. But five hundred years later, it’s now a place where an extravagant elite class reigns supreme; where the clouds hide the stars and the poor starve in the streets; where a rebel group, long thought dead, is resurfacing.
Whispers of revolution have begun—a revolution that hinges on three unlikely heroes…
Chatine is a street-savvy thief who will do anything to escape the brutal Regime, including spy on Marcellus, the grandson of the most powerful man on the planet.
Marcellus is an officer—and the son of a renowned traitor. In training to take command of the military, Marcellus begins to doubt the government he’s vowed to serve when his father dies and leaves behind a cryptic message that only one person can read: a girl named Alouette.
Alouette is living in an underground refuge, where she guards and protects the last surviving library on the planet. But a shocking murder will bring Alouette to the surface for the first time in twelve years…and plunge Laterre into chaos.
All three have a role to play in a dangerous game of revolution—and together they will shape the future of a planet.
Here’s a little peek at the theme for the May Unplugged Book Box.
Unplugged Book Box Review April 2019 – Final Thoughts
Now I see what all the fuss is about. My first Unplugged Book Box was a total hit. I’m curious to see what the adult box is like as that might be more my speed but in saying that I am also pretty excited to read a YA novel as it has been a little while since I enjoyed this genre. I love all the thought that goes in to this box. All the little extras certainly don’t go unnoticed – the bookmark, the playlist, the recipe, the exclusive goodies….etc. And, when it comes to the book specifically they have assured us that to enjoy the book we don’t have to know Victor Hugo’s novel Les Miserables. If you love an epic sci-fi adventure filled with mystery, intrigue, secrets and a hint of romance then this book is for you. I think I am going to love it!
