It has been quite some time since our last Unplugged Book Box and we LOVE book subscription boxes around the AYOB office so we thought it would be a good time to get reacquainted with this wonderful book box.

Here’s a closer look at the June Adult Unplugged Book Box….

The June 2020 Unplugged Book Box theme is Disconnect.

The back of the product card lists all the items in the box. The products tie in with different fandoms, TV shows, and books.

Here’s a few other little goodies – signed sticker, photo challenge, and journal prompts.

The Obsidian Tower by Melissa Caruso

The mage-marked granddaughter of a ruler of Vaskandar, Ryx was destined for power and prestige at the top of Vaskandran society. But her magic is broken; all she can do is uncontrollably drain the life from everything she touches, and Vaskandar has no place for a mage with unusable powers.

Then, one night, two terrible accidents befall her: Ryx accidentally kills a visiting dignitary in self-defense, activating a mysterious magical artifact sealed in an ancient tower in the heart of her family’s castle.

Ryx flees, seeking a solution to her deadly magic. She falls in with a group of unlikely magical experts investigating the disturbance in Vaskandar—and Ryx realizes that her family is in danger and her domain is at stake. She and her new colleagues must return to the family stronghold to take control of the artifact that everyone wants to claim—before it destroys the world.

Hamilton Bar Soap

Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton. This story reminds us not to throw away opportunities. We must disconnect and focus, just like Hamilton did. This soap was made by Natural Pure Honest for Unplugged.

How fun is this rainbow soap?! It has a lovely floral scent and appears to be all-natural.

Bibliophile Sunglasses

Bibliophile; noun: a person who collects or has a great love of books. Protect your eyes when you’re reading outside this summer with these exclusive sunglasses. Disconnect and get outside!

Do you like to read outside? Maybe on the deck, or at the park? These sunglasses will come in handy for your outdoor reading adventures. And the best part is, the style is flattering on pretty much everyone!

Star Wars Sunglass Pouch

Take a journey through space aboard the Millennium Falcon with this drawstring sunglasses pouch by Lacey J Boutique. This sunglass pouch is an Unplugged exclusive.

Perfect for your new sunglasses. Keep them protected when stashed in your book bag with this fuzzy drawstring sunglass pouch.

Veronica Mars Sticker

Solve a case with Veronica Mars with this exclusive vinyl sticker by Rustic Arrow Designs. There are over 10 different exclusive designs you may have gotten.

Stickers are a great way to decorate your belongings (laptop, phone, notebook, etc….) or for collecting. Either way, they are fun to receive.

Red, White & Royal Blue Tote

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston was Unplugged’s June Adult Fiction pick last year! This story is definitely one of my personal favourites. Disconnect and use this tote to go to the beach, pool, or shopping. It was designed by Azura and is an Unplugged exclusive.

Reusable tote bags are a must for any bibliophile. Perfect for toting all your books around…. or shopping for new ones.

The Help Buttermilk Biscuits

The Help by Kathryn Stockett is about love and friendship, racism, strong women, and mother’s and daughters. In The Help, Aibileen is a mother-figure to many characters. She is always doing her best to help and take care of those around her, including through food. These buttermilk biscuits are an Unplugged exclusive by Deer Meadow Homestead, a small business from New Hampshire that sells their baked goodies & jams at local farmer’s markets.

The Help is one of our favorite movies and this Biscuit Mix is one of our favorite items in the June box. Perfect for early morning reading sessions. Mix up a batch of biscuits, pour a cup of coffee and read the day away.

Tangled Dry Shampoo

Tangled is a heartwarming Disney tale with many life-lessons. Rapunzel could probably use quite a bit of this dry shampoo. Use a makeup brush or dry shampoo brush to apply to your hair when it is dry. It’s an Unplugged exclusive by Crunchy Mama Goods.

We are in love with this dry shampoo. It only has three ingredients and it is a must-have for the warm Summer months. It’s nice to be able to wash your hair every other day and use this on the days in between.
